I see your point but the award wasn't for best marketing or bottling. It was a blind taste test, and MGP did 100% of the work that contributed to what the judges tasted.

The issue I have is with rebrands being judged as their brand rather than as their distillate/batch. That manner of categorization creates the very dissonance we are here discussing.

If that same distillate is being labelled as something else by another company, can they also claim to have the "world's best single barrel bourbon?" They should, it's the same stuff.
