Evil eye/dark magic attacks? (self.UofT)

Hello, I am a first year UofT student in a STEM (CS/Math) major taking the hardest possible courses for my major.

The first semester I basically aced (high 90s) everything, and was probably the #1 student in every class I took. I answered the hardest questions nobody else could do, solve problems nobody else could, do it quickly in class, get praise from profs, etc.

However, after receiving some attention from fellow students, such as praise/envy/asking for help I feel like someone (or many people) are attacking me with dark magic/the evil eye out of envy.

i've fallen ill several times this semester, (6 times), and before that I've had bouts of brain fog / inability to concentrate/study.

I've dropped from being #1 in all of my classes, to only getting 10-20% higher than average on exams, quizzes, etc (instead of perfect/etc), due to these long illnesses/missing class/unable to study.

I feel convinced this is the result of dark magic/the evil eye, and I have no idea what to do.

Can anyone give me advice? This has never happened to me before, I normally never catch colds, and in my high school i worked WAY harder than this and was perfectly fine. I definetly know its not stress, because I love the stuff I do.

What can i do?

I come from one of the many cultures that believe in the 'evil eye'... it's not indicative of a mental problem, just cultural superstition.

I find it ridiculous and don't believe in it, but if this is a thing believed in OP's family/culture/etc and he's just going along with it, let's not call him mentally ill for it lmao

If OP was so concerned about the evil eye (which op has expressed), he/she would be wearing a special bracelet or charm to fend off the evil eye.

other than that, op is just probably either unlucky/doesn't wash their hands/doesn't replace their toothbrush after being sick/crazy

I'd go to the doctor and get checked out man.

Also remember that classes get harder each year. The students that had a really hard time in first year may have had to learn study skills that you didn't. They're able to do better in second year because of these skills.

If you keep getting sick, go to a walk-in clinic. It sounds like you're really stressed, and going to a psychologist would be a good idea to talk this through. The stress isn't from the work: it's awesome that you enjoy it so much. The stress is from not being at the top of your game all the time (ps - no one is) when you were at the top of your game at the start.

You must be pretty dumb if you're only getting high 90s. When I was in my first year I got 101 in all of my courses (including APS111). Peter Weiss was high inclined to give me the best blowjay of all times; but after that I got a letter in the mail. My doctor and e-mailed me my blood test results and said he was sad to tell me that I have tiger blood. After that, nothing was the same.
