( My first field report, I'm so exited! )

Well, I live in a large german city that get's flooded with the PUA-crowd. And in the street I live and work in is a guy practising day-game like a spambot. He's not bad looking, very tall, muscular, symmetric face... Terpers would drool over him.

But he has a way of approaching women that sounds like either a social experiment or just a very clueless wannabe player.

He walks up and down the street and asks out every young moderately attractive woman who crosses his way. And he doesn't seem to remember who he had asked out already! I got approached by him three times in the last two weeks! He approaches a girl, says his sentence, get's shot down and goes to the next one. Rinse, repeat...

I asked him what he tries to accomplish by this behavior and if he doesn't remember that it hasn't worked the last two times and that other girls can see what he's doing. He stuttered a bit then walked away. Two days later, he's on the street again, asking out girl after girl... It's kinda heartbreaking.

How can someone think this strategy is a good idea?

But seriously it's as if those guys never realize that other people do have friends and the fact that he's being a creepy weirdo will spread around.

I do fault guys like this in part, for going this route instead of really dealing with how to have respectful social interaction that treats members of the opposite sex like they aren't NPCs... but I put more of the blame on the people who're selling these strategies. The ones doing the selling are well aware that their audience is the sort of guys who aren't good at interpersonal communication and nuance.

I think he's going by a 'keep firing, you'll hit the barn eventually' tactic.

Although I'm loathe to make these kinds of generalizations and assumptions, is it possible he has a mental disorder? Being rejected three times by the same person doesn't is something he'd remember unless he's doing this truly industrial-line style.
