There's the way things should be and the way things actually are. I've been downvoted for stating facts. Not even matters of conjecture. Facts should be infallible but they've still earned me downvotes. The thing is I get over it and ignore the stupidity. Essentially I'm doing exactly what this dude is telling his down voters to do regarding his unpopular post. I'm not commenting so much on the Reddit voting system so much as the hypocrisy in dudes post.

I think the point is you shouldn't downvote someone because of an opinion you disagree with. He didn't downvote you, he shared his opinion. You, however, did not share an opinion, you just downvoted him, which is not really contributing to anything. Not you specifically, this thread in general.

The photos are extremely generic. Taking highly saturated pictures of abandoned building is like lazy work for a first year art student. The shots are badly framed and the overuse of HDR makes everything worse.

Exactly this. There's something about photography comments on this site which usually come across as awfull. 'Shitty HDR' and all of that petty bullshit. If someone takes a photo and likes it good for them. If they ask for advice then bring it on but otherwise fuck off troll photo nerds.

I'm also struggling to find the "horrible" in this photos. I work with photography/photographers as a daily job since young, which pretty much makes me see "the worst" and "the best" in a daily basis. It's all subjective, but I find this shots nice, with nothing special to add. Also, maybe a couple shots were saturated, not more, and there isn't any visible HDR, expect maybe for the shot in the thumbnail. That comment also lacks the fact that post-processing exists.

I don't get the horrible comment, but I don't think these are anything special besides the subject matter. I think these photos are very standard documentary style photos. I'm glad I saw them, it was interesting subject matter, but hey, in my opinion, that's it.

Yeah. Too often he simply goes for the balanced, mirror-image shot and at times he seems to go out of his way looking for that viewpoint. The bank of generators is a rare exception.

The photos are not great, but they certainly aren't "horrible." Tone down the hyperbole a bit and save that adjective for something truly awful, otherwise that word loses its meaning.

Yes it is. "What a terrible photographer" is another way of saying "that photographer is terrible" which is an objective statement. If he had been speaking subjectively he would've said "I think this photographer is terrible" or something similar.

Not necessarily. "He is a terrible photographer" doesn't have to be objective, it depends on the context. Whenever anyone is talking about any artistic medium, the subjectivity of the artist's ability is somewhat implied. So he's just saying he thinks this photographer is terrible. And he's entitled to that.
