As previously said so many times, we have reported over and over, and even emailed kickstarter. Kickstarter DOES NOT CARE. When you click 'I Agree' you are agreeing to the risk associated. We are fucked, you just have to suck it up. We were straight up scammed.
Please everyone report this project just scrol down on the main page and hit the report button.
I think we are being scammed here big time. We have the right to get status updates and transparency.
How come Brandon is working in other projects while he has to finish this project?
No communication @ all to us backers. If everyone complains maybe we wil get some action from kickstarter team.
how to inform kickstarter regarding this project?
The guys of Control VR have stolen our money and nothing happens here ?
Shame on Kickstarter they are criminal too if they spport companies like this one ...
This project showed a great technique of the next generation Kickstarter fraud following the CG fraud.
First of all they will buy expensive professional equipment.
Then they are to impersonate it to the prototype.
And they get away with the gathered money to the project.
This is the biggest (most expensive) flop for me personally on Kickstarter (sadly not the only project that didn't deliver but up til now certainly the one that cost me the most money without getting anything back. I guess I'll have to be more careful with technology projects - if they fail it's just so much money down the drain.
The VRLA Expo is coming up in a couple of weeks. If there was any chance to hear or see anything from these guys it would be at this I would expect. Especially since they are from LA. Here is a link http://www.virtualrealityla.com/expo/ . I do have a friend who has made contact with a couple of people from the original team on the campaign page to try and get info. It appears alot of the people had nothing to do with the KS or the CVR but were listed as leads which is very misleading. However, it does appear that they are trying to continue with this but they are extremely bad at communicating, and she said that she is constantly trying to get them to do a AMA but they dont reply to that question. I will try and get more info when I can.
ohhhh... one day when i will meet one of them I will sure to thank him down to the ground for keeping their promise, I promise.
also I will NEVER back anything on kickstarter. this site is is just an online scam school, and I had my lesson.
Didn't the funding finish on July 4th, and essentially all promised communication end after the successful funding? It really does seem suspicious. Did everyone party too hard, and get fired, and just blow the money away or what?
So dit the project fail or can we stil expect to get thing delivered?
I so hope it was'nt a big waste of money to invest in this company... I had high hopes because of the tested review! :(
I asked for refund a long time ago no mail back, so i'm gona complain @ the Credit card company
http://vrreviewed.com/index.php/2015/10/26/control-vr/ Check this out. Its fairly recent and mentions that things are about to be ready to ship. I know we have heard this alot of the last year but at least something is happening behind the scenes.
Hey, Thats great news for you. I got promised one as well. Could you give a bit more details on what you had to do to get the refund? Did you just contact your bank? are they able to put that through even tho it was 15 months ago?
Hi Guys! Good News for you, maby.
Control VR promised me a refund in early 2015, but never payed me back as promised.
I went to VISA, and complained on the transaction not beeing refunded as promised to me.
VISA complied, i got all my money back! (i didnt complain about not getting my controlvr, but the company not giving me the promised refund, this worked for me)
- I wish you the best of luck too.
- Odd Arne Roll, Norway.
I'd second this request. How were the funds spent. We deserve a detailed account. I also want to know what equipment was used in the kickstarter demo videos. Was it a commercial unit that had been adapted?
I asked before and I'll ask again. Where and how did you spend the Kickstarter funds? You owe us transparency on the accounting of the ~$440k at least, even if we never see what was envisioned.
Personally I feel that this kickstarter project had a major ethical and communication problem
Particularly in the way the represented 'their' technology in the initial video, and how they commented on progress, and in the difference between the communication and access levels prior to funding, and then after.
I was never expecting anything fully formed, I'm used to dealing with early phase projects, but I was expecting something. To have so levered the AR/VR community to get funding, then to have closed up from it, fail to communicate transparently, and fail to contribute anything back is shameful.
I'm not naive to kickstarter, the moneys gone, that's something I'll cope round. But I would call on the creators, if this wasn't just a sham: to be transparent about where the tech actually got to, and if at all possible put it out into the open domain for other people to take on.
If anybody has not already reported this project (we can only do it once) I do suggest that you report it. Kickstarter looks into all the reported campaigns and if they look at this they will see how badly it has been managed. Maybe something could come from that end as well. HOPEFULLY. Has anybody been directly emailing the @ControlVR.com addresses and have any information that they would like to share?
I agree. There are lots of accounts on the web of Kickstarter projects that have failed to deliver actually returning something to backers. Whether this is because the profile of the project is raised, it's unclear, but it's worth a go. Most of these are smaller than the Control VR kickstarter. I find it difficult to believe that it is so easy to raise a considerable amount of money and then apologize for rot actually being able to deliver anything and that's it / acceptable. Kickstarter should be ashamed. They raised so much publicity early on, surely those outlets have some responsibility to report on their failure.
@Karl - as far as I know no one is going forward with a law suit, and I would not expect to hear anything further from the Control VR team. This is one of the worst cases of kickstarter mismanagement I have seen, and I'd suggest getting in touch with kotaku (or similar sites) reporters to see if they would be interested in doing an article so this can be publicized. At the very least, the Control VR team should be providing an accounting so the backers can see where they've thrown our money away to. It doesn't seem right that they can squander over $400k and then just walk away with a vague post saying they need to reorganize and raise funds.
Use this space to cheer the creator along, ask questions, and talk to your fellow backers. Please remember to be respectful and considerate. Thanks!

https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/3j41fc/synertials_official_response_regarding_the/ to get the view from Synertial a company and person involved and actually making some of this technology.
