Dear all, I have asked for refund on 13 Jan 2016 and still today 9 March 2016 I have not received any answer to my 2 refund messages. I am proceeding to a chargeback.
Jay, to be fair, I believe the terms do not apply to Sixense. They kickstarter were before most of the terms existed and have slightly different rules to follow. (Obviously still subject to your country's law though)
Amen to that Michael Banks.. I just can't understand why they act like this. How hard is it to keep your backers informed.. even with bad news.
Some backers are in for information about the process of creating / releasing hardware and backing this project was / is a total waste of time and money.
Why oh why are Sixense being so slack & ignoring backers. Of all the products I've backed over the years this is the worst in terms of updates... There's no reason they can't spend ten minutes each week & write a couple of sentences to the people who had faith in their dream. Shame on you Sixense you ... Show you actually care about your customers & backers by being more transparent about your current development plans. Many of the backers here backed you not to be one if the first test your product but to follow along with the design & development process.
Nah, not a developer. I just know that I won't be able to afford a Rift (or Vive Pre) and beefy computer before Touch ships, and I have no plans on using the Stem for non VR applications/games, so there really is no reason to keep it if it does in fact start shipping in April
Tumor, but most likely you will have STEM for at least 6 months before touch is released. Unless you are a dev that has it early. In which case, shhhhhh.
Hey if anyone wants this, or knows someone who does, I plan on selling it as soon as it arrives. I pledged because the Oculus Rift didn't have a motion control solution, and now that they do I have no need for this. I only plan on making my money back so no price gouging on my end.
Great to hear it, Jason. So who else is not surprised that they have gone dark since December? What are you bets on when the newest new delivery date will be? June 2016? October 2016? February 2017?
Come on creator A update would be good I have preordered cv1 and will be ordering htc vive on the 29th I would still like what I paid for Even stem Vr demos in unity unreal as well and the sdk for unreal 4 come on don't let your backers down
Attorney General informed me that Sixense has refused to communicate with them. They are working with me on getting this resolved. It actually helps me that they are ignoring the AG in California.
I just read that the Steam VR API will support not just the Vive's lighthouse controllers but also Oculus' Touch controllers. This implies that support for the STEM controllers is likely possible!
I would really appreciate an update or at least a few replies here in the comments.
Creator steve any updates would be due ?
You guys are just to late. And htc vive Killer price you are going to have to do some magic to stay in the game. Let's hope it's not a disappearing trick. .?
Hadn't received an update in some time so decided to check on here. I'm actually excited for the STEM system. Once developers start receiving them we'll start seeing more and more STEM supported titles. The best thing for Sixense right now is focus on hardware and start shipping units. Software should follow later. For those naysayers out there remember, Sixense has been around from the beginning. They created huge demand earlier on to drive the motion control industry. You also have to remember the Oculus Touch and Vive controllers are going to cost substantially more than the STEM system after you factor in the Oculus Touch controllers themselves and the second recommended camera required to run them. While the HTC Vive systems don't require a second camera they are rumored to be priced almost double what $599 Rift pre-orders are going for at the moment. The STEM system utilizes superior tracking technology over everything else being proposed and at a lower cost not including a successful track record and proven history.
Steve any news on shipping or any thing on the sixence. Info regarding what's going on
Just gone cold again you guys are sitting on a gold mine and it Gina slop you by
This is the year of Vr 2016. Be a shame if you guys missed it I guess will have to get some thing better this year. Disappointed In you as a team if we can't rely now on good support
What chance do we have if this ever ships. The only good thing I have had out of this was
Some expensive demos.
Their website thinks new pre-orders will go out in April.... so what about our pre-pre-orders?
"AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER NOW. ESTIMATED SHIP DATE FOR NEW ORDERS IS APRIL 2016 (SUBJECT TO ADJUSTMENT)."
Kickstarter should somehow force projects to communicate. The arrogance of Sixense is the problem here. they just think it is no problem ignoring all the inquiries of backers. EVEN IF they somehow are still trying to deliver anything they throwed out any change on being a successfull consumer facing company with this behaviour.
They had lots of oportunities to fix this but they just choose to ignore ignore ignore....
I have faith in Sixense. As long as they are competitively priced compared to Vive and Touch, they technically would dominate as they are resistant to occlusion. The only thing touch would have on them is the finger tracking, which I think is kind of a big deal. So long as they are compatible with everything!! VERY important. And I guess ship too!
I do agree with you about kickstarter though. They are going down the drain and fast. I am not sure if I will back anything anymore. The culture they cultivated in regard to no accountability for the projects they let in and the creators that do not succeed as well as everyones acceptance of projects going late. It is a problem. It has been a problem since kickstarter started. They still have done nothing about it. And I am so tired about people saying it is not a store and to go to amazon (who do you think facilitates your payments on kickstarter? amazon), but that is beside the fact that having that opinion and argument does nothing but perpetuate the same culture that is destroying kickstarters reputation.
Will be interesting to see if Sixense keep to their word or they'll do as Torquing group had done with the Zano campaign.. & split with our $$ and be backed by KickStarter... Total fraud. Am really finding it hard to back any more campaigns. KickStarter lost all business ethics.. Sure hope Sixense have some pride & pull through with their promises to those who still have faith in them.
@creator steve is there any update on the unreal 4 sdk fix I need to get this working still wont install
has any one else got this problem or can any one else help ? because if not this stem kit will just get shelved or no body will be bringing any thing out for it because sixence wont sort out the sdk to backers very poor if no body will help ?
1.sdk fix needed for hydra
2.MotionCreator 2 are you guys going to bring this out for stem so we can use it for our older games or a revamped ver
3.whare are you guys its been to long since you guys can you post some pictures
info of softwhare that we are going to get with out stem kits ?
4.fix the stem sdk for unreal 4.9 4.10 4.11 so I can integrate all 5 stem trackers to my game using the fixed STEM sdk
are you going to be sorting this out for backers before the stem gets shipped out
Sixense is still holding firm on the April ship date, and that is when most other major VR gear will be shipping. I wouldn't panic just yet.
My bigger concern is what titles will support the Stem at launch. Currently the only true vr support Hydra is getting is from the indie and mod community. Will there be any AAA titles shipping with native Stem support?
I am really nervous about this product now. I thought that having a respected name behind the project would be a positive, but it seems they were only interested in taking our money and running away without delivering :/
At very least can you assure us the STEM can emulate a touch or Lighthouse?
Why have you not shown off the STEM's great advantage of using 5 trackers in ANY demos? That at least could create some differentiation from touch and lighthouse.
Why haven't I heard from you since December 22nd? Why weren't you at CES?
Have ANY developers even got a dev kit yet?
Come on guys, lets make this product the success it should have been.
Since I can't edit a comment, I will have to repost to direct my attention at the creator:
@creator: I submitted a request for refund a month ago through the Kickstarter contact system, and haven't received a response. I have now made it official by contacting you through Amazon's payment dispute system via email. Please reply to my email so we can resolve this matter promptly.

@creator steve backers any one willing to help ? any info on this
can we backers get a fix on the unreal 4.9 4.10 to get it to load up hydra stem vr
is any one else getting load up problems I have copied the folder but its crashing says vr runtime then just crashes out then I have to go and delete the stem
Ideally Sixense should have backer units out already do they could get commercial units on the shelves well before the Oculus CV1 hits the shelves .. But they're leaving it late. I'm surprised they're not blanketing the Gaming community hoping to snag a few sales before CV1 co trollers are released .. But they're doing nothing ... Not even at CES
Are you working to get current developers to include the STEM sdk into their game builds? Or would it be possible for you to work out the Touch and Vive sdks as to find a way that would let your library be integrated without much hassle? I'm talking about others' motion controls being easily portable to use your library.
@firefly... the shipping schedule has not changed. We're still on for starting to deliver systems in April.
@Adrian Metcalfe... we're currently looking into all the options for lowering shipping costs and faster schedules. We will certainly provide an update as all the details fall into place.
Use this space to cheer the creator along, ask questions, and talk to your fellow backers. Please remember to be respectful and considerate. Thanks!

so like if they refused the AT General... im thinking maybe they are trying to run from the project or what?
Do we need a class action lawsuit to get a update?

or a "Listen the project failed and no refunds" so i can sue them
either or at this point

It's never too late to change your business ethics / start improving communication with your backers.
