JB and Iain Chapman: There is currently no way for us to create another level that has 2 lenses for $16 as this would negate the purpose of having early bird pricing limits, however, what you can do is increase your backer level to $16 manually and we will make a note to send you each two lenses (and four total lenses to an underfunded science program)
Thanks! :)

Thank you JB, we intend to do a lot of good and we are considering potentially doing a model very similar to Tom's shoes when the kickstarter is over, where we provide one lens to an underfunded science program for EVERY order that is placed!

I have had this lens for a few years, purchased from the original Kickstarter. It seems shameful to me that this copied product is being promoted in direct competition with the originally designed Micro Phone Lens. I hope people will read this comment section and visit the original site.

Hi, I also want to see if there is a way to add one more lens to my contribution.
It seems that there are a few criticisms on your product; however, to me, it is new and even is intending to help underfunded schools. Your good intention will make a good fruit. Cheer up!

Iain Chapman: Thank you for asking about being able to double your order, we will include two lenses in your shipment as our way of thanking you for your support!

Thank you Beth, we apologize if we appeared to be unappreciative of the hard work that others have put into the concepts behind this product. We strongly believe that all technical developments are the equivalent to standing on the shoulders of others. We were simply pointing out the differences between us and our competitors that other commenters requested that we describe.
Our only intention is to bring this very cool product to the masses at a price and performance level that has only now become possible!

I have to agree with the prior commenters who note the obvious comparisons to the micro-phone lens that was successfully funded in 2013. It's easy to congratulate yourself on how you can make the lens cheaper than competitors; but you should also recognize and acknowledge that others have paved the path that has allowed you to do so. Even the photographs in your campaign look exactly like the photographs in the micro-phone lens!

Hello Chloe!
Thank you for your concern, we would never be ashamed to help kids explore the world around them and learn about science.
Many business have competitiors, we have developed a cheaper, and higher quality method of achieving something that others have contributed to the development of. I am quite sure that Tom's shoes is not ashamed of making shoes after someone else had already began making shoes!
To our knowledge our competitiors do not provide lenses to schools at zero cost as we intend to do.
Thank you for your concern!

... Seriously? Here's the Micro Phone Lens going to school conferences back in 2014

They're also working on medical applications in the 3rd world.

You should be ashamed of this blatant rip-off.

Hello same and Chloe!
The difference between our product and our competitors is that we use a specialized process of manufacturing and a more complex lens geometry that increases the quality of the photos that can be produced by other less sophisticated optical design and manufacturing techniques and processing. The best part is, we've also found a way to make it for more than 1/3 less than our competitors!
Our mission is also quite different. We produced this product so that we can provide it to underfunded schools at an extremely low price, much cheaper than we can provide them to the general public. And in some cases, completely free! We are working with school district administrators and science teachers to ensure this gets into classrooms as soon as possible!

This is the same thing as a prior Kickstarter that was successfully funded several years ago. So tell us, how is yours different from this product?
The original kickstarter you ripped off: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/968523355/micro-phone-lens-cell-phone-based-microscope
And it's official website.

Perhaps all your backers can cancel their pledges and go buy the original.

Isn't this the exact same product (The Micro Phone Lens) that was funded by kickstarter 2.5 years ago? There are other magnifications out for the Micro Phone Lens now too (4x, 8x, 15x, 150x).

I have backed. Can we double our pledge amount so that we receive 2 lenses?
Māris Puķītis about 15 hours ago
Cool idea. Good luck guys.
However, I'm a little confused about the way Tiny Lens stiks to the phone's camera. As I see in the video, camera is more outside of the phones' body (not at the same level of it), so it seems that the Tiny Lens stiks to camera because of the friction. Hence, I wonder if Tiny Lens would also stick to flat surface as well [as camera is at the same level of the phone's body in my particular case] and how long does it stay on the place?

Tiny lens looks really promising! I can't wait to see this funded :)

Hello Jongbok Yi!
To answer your question, Tiny Lens never wears out, if it ever gets dirty all you have to do is rinse it off and dry it with a lint free towel and then you can go on taking pictures with it!
Thanks!

How many times I can de/attach the lens from/to my phone? Would you pease make the video explicitly mention the carrying case and how many times it can be used?
Creator Tiny Lens 1 day ago
Great question! Yes, the lens will come with a little case that will keep it clean and will make it much harder to lose!
Logocop 1 day ago
What a cool idea! I'm definitely in. A question: will the lens come with some kind of case or something to store it in? That would help keep it cleaner, as well as make it harder to lose (it is Tiny, after all!). Or perhaps as a stretch goal or add-on. Thanks!
