It's Twitter, not an HBO comedy special.

True it is. Can still tell people where he heard it.

He can, but there's no reason to. Why quote somebody when you have no way of knowing if they're even the source? It's a joke. People repeat jokes. That's how they spread. Unless you're on stage making money from it there's no need to worry about "joke theft".

Are you happy arguing something neither of us care too much about? :)

[–]stanley_twobrick 1ポイント2ポイント  (2子コメント)

Sure? You made an erroneous statement and I'm explaining to you why that isn't what joke theft is. If you're incapable of admitting that you're wrong, that's your issue.

You are escalating something when I am not arguing with you and then assuming I am doing that because I am wrong. This is not true.

By the way it is me who is upvoting your comments. Don't act like there's an army behind you :).

You are arguing with me. And you argued with two other people. And you're wrong. And I'm done now, so bye.

you think that dude came up with this joke originally?

[–]dukck 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

He (also) stole it. This doesn't make it less stealing.

I know it's a crazy concept, but people outside of Reddit tell jokes because they're funny, and don't care about magical Internet points or if they're stolen.

As if that person's tweet is the origin of the joke

He (also) did it. This doesn't make it less stealing.
