About this project
Our Mission
At Otaku Club House, our goal is to provide a mature and adult membership environment for Anime, Gaming, Live Action Role Play (LARP), Costume play (Cosplay), and Furry communities in the US market and worldwide! We will provide our members an affordable membership that will allow them access to any of our Otaku Club House locations, anywhere in the world.
Our Members / Our Motivation
This quest began with wondering why there are not any permanent, affordable places where geeks and nerds can go to hang out. For every other kind of activity (i.e., fitness, tennis, football, golf, etc.), there seems an endless supply of clubs and outlets. Where do fans of anime and gaming go to share their passions and interact with others who understand and appreciate the same things?
Players who enjoy tabletop games (i.e., Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, and Magic: The Gathering, etc.), typically meet up wherever someplace is willing or able to fit them in. Often this means an overcrowded section of a comic book store, or the occasional college campus, though these venues are seldom ideal or permanent. The same is true for PC and Console Gamers, who rely on each other's homes to host LAN parties, where the designated host needs to ensure:
- Enough space is provided for guests and bulky computers!
- Necessary networking equipment is in place: router, switch, network ports...and most importantly, the server!
- There is enough bandwidth.
- Noise control. You don't want any complaints from your neighbors, parents, or non-gamer roommate.
- Proper airflow and A/C. No gamer wants to play in a sauna!
- Don't overloaded electrical circuits, because then it's game over!
In between anime and comic conventions, or the next big sci-fi movie, fans of Cosplay, Furry, and LARP all but disappear. While there are websites people can go to and find out when and where the next convention is, evens are often months or a year apart and too far for the average person to afford to travel. Wouldn't it be great to be able to show off the love and hard work you put into your costume more than just a few times a year? And wouldn't it be awesome to be able to come and go without feeling like you're the odd one out? Although fandom and gaming communities continue to grow in popularity, many can attest to harassment and ridicule by those who don’t understand or appreciate their passion.
It's time we had a place of our own!
Otaku Club House is a proposed 16,000 square foot facility, specifically designed to provide a mature and adult environment for Anime, Gaming, LARP, Cosplay, and Furry communities!
Amenities:
- Multiple, spacious, and separate game rooms designed for D&D, Warhammer, LAN Parties, and Magic: The Gathering, and other tabletop games (e.g., There will be 4 main D&D game rooms, designed to accommodate 48 6 hour blocks of game time, per week!)
- Three Theaters: Two Indoor, specifically for Anime / One Outdoor for "Stars Under the Stars" movie nights!
- Café / Snack Area
- Library / Quiet Room
- Free Wi-Fi
- Secure and Private Outdoor Recreational Area - perfect for LARP, Cosplay, and Furry!
- Weekly and Monthly Social Events and Activities
- ADA accessible.
Everything under one roof...and yard! The only thing missing will be you!
Designing a facility like Otaku Club House required an understanding and respect for our members and their needs. We've taken these things into consideration regarding location, comfort, IT infrastructure, and security. The costs to grow any great idea are not cheap. Our estimated startup expenses for Otaku Club House:
Land/Lot: $2,000 (1 month's payment for $250,000 lot @ 30 year mortgage & applicable taxes)
Building Construction: $1,345,000
Furniture, Utilities, and Miscellaneous Expenses: $515,000
Staffing & Administration: $41,000 (First Months' Salaries)
System Installations: $46,000
Total Pledge Goal: $1,949,000
Otaku Club House is designed for the anime and gamer communities, who for too many years have quietly accepted inadequate conditions in order to be with others who share their passions. When members join Otaku Club House, they will know that they are welcomed and appreciated, and that care and effort went into making their visit the best experience possible! And why not?
Our members deserve someplace better!
We are confident that Otaku Club House will soon be the place everyone is talking about...and every "nerd" and "geek" can't wait to be a part of!

Risks and challenges
If unable to reach our funding goal, we will look to scale down our floor plan. This will likely reduce the experience for potential members, as we may not have sufficient space to offer some services or activities.
The security of a good location is an area we cannot afford to deprive from our members. Providing the same quality and security expected of other professional club facilities is our highest priority...anything less, is no way to grow a business.
Once people realize what we have to offer our members, our only real challenge will be keeping ahead of growth as we look forward to expanding and franchising!
If we don’t reach our pledge goal, we may not be able to make Otaku Club House a reality, and we will lose out on the joy and pleasure of creating something amazing for people who are amazing.
