The closest thing I can give to an honest answer is that not even I know what the honest answer is any more. I've gotten to a point after I sold the company where none of the people I hang out with have any idea what kotaku or gamergate or reddit is. I've still gone on twitter to post funny jokes and sometimes honest opinions, and I still read reddit more than I should, and I absolutely spend way too much time on twitch and youtube, but at the core of it all..

i stopped caring.

My biggest pet peeve is when people intentionally try to ignore reality or distort reality to fit their narrative when it's obvious they're not right. It turns into semantics wars and smug victories as if redefining words really does change the nature. I was very afraid of speaking out against people who do this because a lot of the gaming media and game developers engage in this behavior (and there's definitely a fair share of that on this subreddit too), but since

i no longer have to hold back and can start calling people out on this. I've also, because of let us just say a mild decade long experience with opening my third eye become fairly decent at accepting flaws in myself without too much judgement, so i can say things in a way that seems like I'm being self aware and insightful about why I do things, and that makes it super easy to phrase everything like it's a joke. I like jokes. I like hiding truths in jokes. A sufficiently tricky joke is like a puzzle. A puzzle that dawns on people, a puzzle with a hidden truth might surpass the social and mental and emotional barriers people have put up and maybe slip in some truth. This is how I neckbeard against the feminazi.
