These reddit mods have been moderating call of duty subs for a long time. Each new sub has had a large sum of subscribers, and all have been the only active ones. I ask that you guys place your trust in all of them, as they having been doing this the longest, and we actually see the community for how it is. This will be the last of the talk of this merge, we will continue to make /r/blackops3 the home for black ops 3 until the new CSS and Automod systems for /r/callofduty are finished, in which there is no ETA. After the switch we will hold an OFFICIAL poll on /r/callofduty exactly one month after the merge, only then after everyone has actually experienced the merge, and not just judging it from what it sounds like will we recollect as mods and decide what will be done from there.

Seriously, like keep the relevant solo COD sub's open, like /r/Fallout4, /r/GrandTheftAutoV, and /r/GlobalOffensive.

They also have their own game series sub, like /r/fallout, /r/GTA etc.

Not everyone wants to see this.

You'll be able to filter the posts by the Flair, meaning you won't have to see any other CoD games' posts if you don't want. The other point was they have so little content as it is, other CoD's won't flood the current one's page.

I've seen a few, but maybe that is because you have been doing your job =). Most of the time I see an AW comment in the BO3 sub, it is typically negative, or draws negative comments.

It might not be trolling, but there are accounts that seem to need to talk shit to certain other accounts just cause. It looks ridiculous when you start to notice and see the same name in comment trains bitching, when the only real reason they are there is cause the person they feel it is their job to disagree with, is making a comment.

It's constant over on what was the AW sub.

I'm open to the idea and appreciate the wish to merge all.

But given the reasons by others here I don't want to be seeing all old cod posts coming up in one sub it seems a strange idea to me. Plus anyone wanting to post something specific to one game might not get much in terms of a response or support.

They'll be drowned out by the what now is the current cod bo3.

No, I enjoy the day to day actions of being a Mod, it's just starting over at 0 Subscribers and working all the way back up just to lose em all again isn't very fun. It also isn't a good idea to divide the community between a bunch of different subreddits.

I really don't like this. I only play BO3 and that's all I really care about. I unsub from each COD subreddit besides the current one for this very reason. I don't want to be spammed with stuff from other CoDs on my front page.

I would agree if Reddit was a different kind of platform, like a real forum with sections, but with only one general section it will be clusterfuck.

I can already see Black Ops III posts commented by COD4-widows saying "Shitty game, give us a remaster" and such.

I'm using BaconReader, I honestly don't know if I will be able to filter threads, but certainly I will read a lot of bs material.

I have a few question? Why are we merging into /r/CallofDuty? Hasn't that sub existed for a long time and there have always been separate subs for each new Cod? Edit: I read the post in the new sub and it answered my question. But now I want to know how do subreddits merge? Will I have to subscribe to the new /r/CallofDuty or will it Cary over when it merged? Will this sub still exist? Also how does it affect me as mobile user?

The older subs are locked and don't allow any new content, /r/BlackOps3 will be the same after the merge completes. As a Mobile User you're just not going to be able to post in the old subs, if you look on Desktop you'll get a popup that tells you about the merge.

You'll have to unsubscribe from the older subreddits then subscribe to this one.

Yes, you can either use RES and Disable the Subreddit CSS, go into your Reddit Preferences and Disable Subreddit CSS, or use the Mobile App.

This seems to me like a ulterior motive so the current mods can stay mods of all Call of Duty games for a long time.

The reasons given are flawed, if you really are being honest allow some more passionate mods to take over.

You will get backlash for this, forcing something on the community without consent, without a poll, without any test to see if it works.

At this point the official Call of Duty forums would serve me better to find content.

I've never seen a gaming subreddit benefit from allowing meme posts. Back when /r/fallout allowed memes on their sub, half the top posts at any time were low-effort memes about game logic. They can be good for a quick laugh, but memes typically don't promote discussion and they seem to get stale rather quickly. I'd rather keep them away from the main subreddit, in my opinion.

This may sound silly, but what about having 2 separate subreddits for the entire CoD community on reddit? It could work like this: the first subreddit (r/PresentCoD or something) would hold posts for the most current annual Call of Duty title for the year. The past CoD titles (r/legacyCoD) would have their spotlight on the second subreddit.

TL;DR two subreddits. one for current game, one for past games

Edit: my idea is to have less clutter, have older titles' posts easier to find, and honestly keep the community for complaining about not wanting to see content from / about certain CoD titles.

Honestly, I'm not mad. I can see the reasoning behind this. But I'm not interested in the CoD community, the yearning for the old and the nitpicking of the new. I'm enjoying BO3 and will probably only play this for the next two years, and maybe drop out of CoD again. I'll stick around on this sub until all the DLC is out, but if this sub merges and becomes a franchise sub, I'm definitely unsubbing. Makes no sense for me to stick around.

And they are all related to the idea of zombies when they show up every now and then. people on this sub are here because they want to talk exclusively about black ops 3. when you combine the cods like ghosts or aw people who dont want to see anything from those game are now going to see things from those games.
