GENDER CRITICAL FEMINISM

Gender Critical is a subreddit to analyze gender from a critical perspective. We are a radical feminist and women centered community. This is a place to think critically about gender, the erasure of lesbian culture and the appropriation of women's spaces. In short this is a place to discuss radical feminism without fear.

The other two red flags are a lot of them mention being virgins and wanting to be girls they find attractive. That last bit is apparently extremely common, except most guys wouldn't ever notice it. But you take a loner weirdo and they start obsessing over it and how easy women allegedly have it to get laid and then one day they notice themselves and they decide that they actually want to be a girl. Maybe this explains why they all want to be hipster nerd girls; they want to be these hot nerds that they obsess over.

A theory I've heard from someone else, is they want to literally be their dream "manic pixie girl", because they couldn't "get" one themselves.

What do you mean by "manic pixie girl?" I agree that a lot of them just want to be the girls they're attracted to because they can't "get" them, or becoming them is the closest they can be to "getting" them.
I guy I know has a somewhat nerdy girlfriend. It's not that amazing. The girls who want to play video games all the time are going to be super nerds like you expect and the ones that are only "somewhat nerdy" are far too close to "normal" to be compatible with the with a lot of nerdy guys.
Most popular but nerdy girls don't want a loner boyfriend who acquired a sissy fetish from gawking at them.

Manic Pixie Dream girl is short hand for the type of girl (not woman) every beta male is supposed to want. She's young and attractive (but doesn't know it, she's innocent). She is often quirky but overall flat with little substance or back story. She mostly exists to make the dour, nerdy main male character realize life is beautiful and spontaneous and get him to come out of his shell and grow into himself.

Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Not only to they not exist, but anyone that looks like one isn't that amazing. They have their own personalities (obviously) and their desirability would come crashing down once the beta realizes that.
There's been a few girlfriends of guy friends. One was perpetually quiet and the other is an MRA.
Your average beta isn't going to find an "innocent" girl because he wouldn't approach and would shame all of her advances, possibly as a fake nerd girl or something.

It's the hollow dream girl. She's sexy but has no experience. She won't judge or intimidate him. She has no career, family, or history to get in the way of making the man child feel happy and good about himself. She's the 'more complicated' male fantasy believe it or not. The other is the hyper sexual babe with big boobs who wears tight, short clothes.

Beta males are in denial about thinking women have their own feelings and ideas; they're just puppets they can make act however they want, basically a super hot girl who doesn't know it and always does the work to make herself hot for him.
Betas feel a sense of superiority to other men who have sexualized ideas about women when their own fantasies are just as controlling and objectifying.

I think that's one of the main things with autogynephilia, they become the "type" of women they're attracted to i.e. whatever stock character from porn they like the most. I've read articles on here a few times by trans who mention becoming their fantasy woman, but I can't pull any up on the search :/

I think you're on to something. The girl they become is what other guys would consider their type. They don't seem to be into porn characters but it's more like "I'm never going to be with that girl so I want to be her." Because she's just an empty she'll to him that he can throw his ideas about women into.
It's pretty obvious that cis men get off on pretending to be women doing what they want, because that's what sex chat sites are filled with. Eww, web chat.

Yeah, they aren't imitating actual women. Find me a trans that has ever taken his cues, either the way he talks or acts, from actual women he knows in real life-or even a specific celebrity woman (who isn't acting a role.)
They're all, gay and straight, acting out men's fantasies about women. The gay ones are trying to attract straight men, or show how docile they are so straight men won't (they think) hurt them. The straight ones are getting the ultimate level of control over their dream woman by becoming her, and forcing actual women to play along as much as possible.

I've noticed this, too. The MtTs that I see on "lesbian" dating sites are all the hipster gamer girl type. It's really odd. It feels like they are saying "you're not doing the girl thing correctly, so I'm going to do it for you!" Except they are straight men who they are now trying to date lesbians, who are going to see right through that.

It's especially obvious when you compare those guys to gay transsexuals -- usually the latter want to look like a model or an Instagram makeup guru, while the autogynephiles want to be the stereotypical hipster cool-geek gamer girl with piercings and blue hair who'd never date them.

Woahh slightly off topic but wow that describes my ex to a t. He was a cross dresser, rather than trans, but the most clear example of autogynephilia I've ever met. He was always on at me to dye my hair blue and get tattoos and piercings, and bitching about how he could dress better than girls if he were one. He was exactly this stereotype.
He loved manic pixie types and was very consistently pissed off with me when I did things that accidentally let on that I was more than a passive set of sexy insecurities (luckily for him in my early 20s I really wasn't much other than an unassertive insecure attempt to get people to like me).
While I can't blame people for taking advantage of the existence of these dudes by being sexy nerdy gamer porn girls (heck, I did similar), it always pissed me off how much guys seemed to buy into the idea that the super hot cam girl with the blue hair would definitely date them because look she has a zelda tshirt on and I like zelda so obviously we're soul mates.
It's so easy to see how easily those guys end up in red pill land; they have the exact same conception of women as the most obvious kinds of misogynist.

The obsession they have with shared pop culture interests meaning so much is unnerving. Especially since when I was into some large sci-fi "fandoms", which you'd think they'd like, I was mostly just harassed and insulted for it (I was young, skinny, and 'pretty').

Exactly! I used to feel like that about my interests, but when I was 13. Once I became an adult I realised, actually, liking a thing doesn't make you automatically compatible with someone else who likes that thing. I feel like these guys are really stuck in a specific bit of adolescence. It's also the bit of my adolescence where I used to stay in the library after school to troll people on the Internet because I was soo much smarter than them (I was the worst, but also 12/13 - not in my thirties with a job).
Oh and god yes I've seen that happen so often, that when they actually find girls who are into the things they like they hate it. You have to be exactly the right level of into it, which is this nonexistent level where you're willing to listen to them monologue about it for hours with big eyes going 'wow yeah you're so smart and funny and smart', not actually contribute.

Their dream girls aren't the nerds they obsess over it's the hot girls they really have no chance with. The reason they become hipster nerd girls is because they're hipsterish and nerdy to begin with and taking some hormones and putting on an act doesn't really change that.
