I wouldn't even call it a melt, it's more just like a hot sandwich. It's the same category as a BLT where it can't be defined by just one dominant ingredient because they're all balanced.

Do you have any other cuts of bacon in america? Ive only ever seen the belly cuts on here. Assuming youre american obviously...

I am American. The only bacon I've ever personally eaten or heard of is belly cuts. Though many parts of the pig is used for consumption here. In fact, just tonight, I ate a slow roasted pig ass. It was delicious.

I dont blame yas, the belly is the best, just over here in Aus i dont think ive ever seen it for sale as bacon. Lol i hope you mean the rump and not the butt hole like i am now strangely imagining.

In the UK we call bacon cut from the belly 'streaky' bacon. The other kind is "back" bacon, which is mostly loin with a bit of belly. Back is what we use is sandwiches as it's got more lean meat on it.

Yeah here in Australia too. I prefer streaky bacon. I put it in the oven till it's so crispy it snaps. Perfect for a BLT. In America the back or round is called Canadian Bacon.

If you have a costco near you, they sell it by the kilo

and pork butt is actually the shoulder cut :)
