This "evangelicals" going for trump issue has become an unexpected little benefit for yours truly.

You see my fellow posters despite you all knowing and believing me to be that big fuzzy teddy bear you have all come to love and adore I am actually a demon possessed 'backslider' and outcast rebel of the Baptist brotherhood.

Or so I am told.

I know this may come as a shock to many of you on here, but this one time choir member and head of the church youth group quit attending services several years ago and has not graced the inner sanctum of salvation since, much to the chagrin of several of his fellow Baptist brethren.

For years now I have been plagued with the inevitable "why don't you come to church anymore" every time I meet any of my 'former' allies while out and about or while attending social gatherings of one sort or another.

However I discovered this past Sunday evening that the donald has done this demon infested malcontent an unforeseen service during his attempted rise to power, he has become the hero of those self proclaimed "evangelicals".

In so doing he has damaged their armor so to speak.

During the Sunday Gathering of the 'Herd' , that being a group of TWD fans who migrate to one of our members abode to watch our fave show in his theatre view equipped 'mancave' I found my self surrounded by a group of said "evangelicals" hell bent on forcing me to return to the 'House Of Worship'.

Outnumbered, and in peril my mind was in overdrive looking for an escape route, when suddenly a glimmer of hope developed into a thought and my mouth opened and I asked them ' who did you vote for in the Caucus' ?

As expected they all piped up and proudly declared , 'Donald Trump Of Course' !

Like the average standard issue nameless trump chumps they are they were oblivious to the fact that they had just lost a major battle.

Shaking my head with that demonic smirk I am credited with upon seeing yet another victory at hand I informed them I support Ted Cruz, still do and I voted for him.

I then tore into them informing them I never want to hear another word of condemnation from any self righteous trump supporter.

Because if they have no problem with his lifestyle and all of its obvious sins and immoral activities they sure as hell have no right to judge me and mine.

The look on their faces said everything, they knew I was right, and they knew they had screwed the pooch with their blatant ignorant support of trump.

I thank donald for his assistance in shedding me of that problem I have long confronted, I shall now wield him like the infamous black sword 'Stormbringer' every time I find myself confronted by the "evangelicals' who have ill intent towards yours truly showing in their eyes.

Damn propshaft, that was dark. I just write them off as idiot celebrity-chasing liberals who are taking my country away and move on. Time to get positive about having other options, and facing the fact that we'll have to rebuild the conservative movement after what these idiots have done.

Damn propshaft, that was dark.

It is they, not I who have willingly sold their soles to the devilish donald.

Cheer up, lad. We'll finally get to see who in this country actually hates the two party system, or who just talks big. It's going to be the two most reviled candidates in modern history facing off, and they're both almost identical fiscally.

You sure hit that nail directly on the head.

However I have got to give the wicked witch hillary the edge in this battle.

Her foe has shown his weakness several times during recent debates, and interviews, that being his ignorance of political etiquette as well as current affairs especially where foreign relations are concerned.

Should he somehow win the day against hill, he will soon find out his desired throne is one constructed of thorns, and they will rip his ass apart if he tries sitting to heavy upon its seat.

Yeah, she's going to tear him to shreds. Time to start thinking about rebuilding the conservative movement through a third party.

I must say, the hypocrisy is strong, and this is coming from a longtime Christian. To me, it just shows that for many people, their stated beliefs don't necessarily go much deeper than the wagging tongue announcing them. A serial adulterer, a cheat, a swindler, and a liar is what Trump is. He's as corrupt as they come.

As a longtime Christian you should know it's not your place to judge the actions of others. Instead of slinging around the sins of a fellow human on the Internet why don't you take the time to pray for Trump instead? As a longtime Christian surely you should know prayer is a much better use of time than gossiping about the sins of others on the internet...

Also as a fellow believer, the "Judge not lest ye be judged" mentality is one of the biggest misquoted, out-of-context verses there is.

First off, yes God IS the only one who can judge and sentence us to eternal life with him, or eternal separation and damnation in hell. But judgement of character and actions, and deciding what kind of person you will and will not associate with are well within your rights as a believer, and expected through exercise of your OWN FREE WILL!

You better believe God gives us the right to judge our fellow man based on his actions. Otherwise how would we discern and act accordingly to avoid traps and pitfalls.

Let's not quote a single verse, there-by destroying the whole message, shall we?!

Matthew 7:1-5 (NASB Translation):

1“Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2“For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3“Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4“Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5“You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Let's drink in the whole context. Don't judge someone of wrong-doing if you yourself are doing the same wrong thing.

I do not know /u/Turless, but I can speak for myself. I am not a serial adulterer, I am not a cheat, I am not a swindler, nor am I a habitual liar...

So yeah, I'm judging Trump to be a scumbag, because using scripture as the standard for measurement, HE IS A SCUMBAG. I pray that he changes his heart some day, but that will not stop be from telling my fellow brethren, "DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS VILE MAN WHO DOESN'T GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT WHAT GOD HAS TO SAY! VOTING FOR HIM IS A BETRAYAL OF YOUR OWN TESTIMONY!"

Yes, I am quite guilty of using expletives on a regular basis, so I will not judge anyone else for cursing like a sailor or the lack thereof. THAT is the message of that passage.

I can quote verses too:

Matthew 5:21-22 - “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.

Matthew 5:28 - But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his hear.

Have you ever been angry at someone? Have you ever looked at a man or woman in lust? Guess what, in the eyes of Jesus you are no better than gulp Donald Trump.

You better believe God gives us the right to judge our fellow man based on his actions. Otherwise how would we discern and act accordingly to avoid traps and pitfalls.

Sure, we have the responsibility to judge our fellow man but we do not have the responsibility to talk bad about others and drag their shortcomings all the over the internet. In fact, let's go back to scripture to how we should deal with the sins of others:

Matthew 18:15-17 - If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

I'm curious how many evangelicals have even considered that approach with Trump. B-but it's impossible to have a one on one conversation with Trump!! If that's the case than shouldn't you trust in the Lord that He will sort out the hardness of Trump's heart? Shouldn't you trust that if Trump is a Christian as he says he is, the Spirit will soften his heart and he will walk a path of sanctification?

Honestly, it doesn't matter. You won't change your mind because you are convinced you are right. Just like the many other evangelicals who are constantly trashing and gossiping about Trump and bringing up his un-biblical actions as a way to further their own political agendas. I just find it sad that there is a group of evangelicals who do or should know the Bible yet they are publicly using the sins of someone in order to make a political statement. What a nasty small minded worldly focused action.

Edit:

As a follow up:

VOTING FOR HIM IS A BETRAYAL OF YOUR OWN TESTIMONY

I'm curious if you have purchased any Apple products, use Google, or drink coffee from Starbucks.

Lol, calling evangelicals a hypocrite because they support a political figure that has a life style which contains actions contradictory to the Bible.

Let me guess, you completely live off the land, never buy any modern electronics or conveniences, and you only shop at local stores where you were able to perfectly vet someone's lifestyle and make sure it's perfectly aligned with your certain moral beliefs. Essentially, you never support anyone if they don't hold the absolute same world view as you.

Yeah, no.
