using offline files

Keeping your offline files in sync

When you select a network file or folder to make available offline, Windows automatically creates a copy of that file or folder on your computer.
My question is---WHERE does it save that copy? In what folder? Can I set the folder I want the copy to be in and HOW do I do it?
Thank You for any help.

Windows 8 Enterprise 32 bit

It's located in the C:\Windows\CSC folder

To change it, do the following:
  1. Open "OFFLINE FILES" (In Win8 you hit START and just type Offline files, should be the same in Win7)
  2. Click "Disable offline files"
  3. Run regedit.
  4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC
  5. Right-click CSC, New -> Key, and name it as Parameters.
  6. Right-click Parameters, New -> String Value, name it as CacheLocation.
  7. Right-click CacheLocation, then Modify.
  8. In the Value data box, type the name of the new folder (make sure you created it) you want to create the cache, like this: \??\drive:\folder
Where it’s Windows NT format for folder path name, with drive for drive letter and folder as folder name. For example: \??\D:\csc
  9. Restart the computer.
  10. Open again OFFLINE FILES.
  11. Click on Enable Offline Files.
  12. Restart the computer.
  13. All new offline folders will be cached and saved to that new location.
