I have mycelium too and lately I've been paying priority just because this nonsense is going on. I should not have to pay a ten cent fee just to donate to an ebook mirror.

Having to explain to my friend interested in bitcoin that I used to pay a 3 cent fee but I can't right now was very embarrassing.

You all are welcome to come over to the Ethereum network. It already can handle 10x the transactions per second as Bitcoin, and is looking to handle another 10x as many by the end of the year using proof-of-stake, and is targeting Visa-levels of transactions after that with parallel-chain sharding.

My Bitcoin transaction went through just fine. They don't take Ethereum.

Pay more fee of course. Not using Bitcoin will happen due to market forces soon enough, don't centrally plan, allow the market to work itself out.

Paying higher fees won't work today. Even if you pay double the priority fee, with this backlog you cannot guarantee a speedy confirmation. Better to wait and see for a bit.

For the minimum transaction size you will still get in soon if you use a 0.0001 fee. If you double that you can be almost certain to get into the next block.

I just send about $3 from one wallet to another. New coins, fee was .0001 and it was in the next block. I'm afraid I'm not seeing the issue right now.

I am wondering if you also stared in blank disbelief at the comment above. There are seriously two languages in use now, and their only similarity is that the words sound exactly the same, notably words such as "market", "consensus", and "controversial". Other than that they are completely mutually unintelligible.

Probably a mixture of intentionally misleading wording and plain old ignorance and stupidity. Hard to tell which one it is in OPs case.
