Ok, this one is pretty funny.

About a year a ago I switched from using tampons to menstrual cups. I had only recently even heard of menstrual cups myself, and while I had a general idea of how they worked, I admit I did need a diagram to know exactly how it was meant to be inserted.

Anyway, while I was talking to my boyfriend, I mentioned that I used cups. Now my boyfriend is a smart man, but he had never heard of cups and it didn't occur to me to explain to him their function, so his confusion, in hindsight, is understandable.

Anyway, he seemed bewildered and slight repulsed by the idea of a menstrual cup and I couldn't quite figure out why. Eventually I figured out that he thought menstrual cups were like the sports cups that men wear, outside the body and encircling the genitals. Basically, he though I had an actual cup collecting blood like a drip pan just sloshing around in my pants. I laughed so hard.
