This guy's in the Discord chat so keep that in mind everyone. Two communities that are largely connected? How exactly is a chat room of 40 people buried in a stickied post connected to a large Reddit fanbase? And why do they get to make a decision in a Twitch stream about not sharing certain clues right away with the general public? What ever happened to the transparency of Mugen?

I just popped in there tonight considering everything that has been happening, never been in there before that. There's nor reason for division between any community. The fact is this isn't Reddit's ARG.

I still believe it needs to be largely posted on a forum that is permanent, rather than a chat. We can all use discord and reddit (or UnF or whatever). But limiting all information to the chat isn't helpful to anyone except those who spend all day in the chat.

Well some of us can use Discord, I was banned for simply giving my point of view on things after being invited to their chat.

They're banning like crazy, someone needs to make a new post about this.

I don't even want to give them the attention anymore, tbh.

Well yes of course, once it goes censorship then the whole we can have discussions in many places as one community thing falls apart.

They did share the information it led to, and plan a more thorough walk-through tomorrow. https://www.reddit.com/r/10cloverfieldlane/comments/47sax1/the_next_clue/

I'm sorry, but the damage is already done. The secrecy, information withholding, twitch stream, the now infamous "delete this" posts... the trust is literally nonexistent.

There is no damage. There is no secrecy. There is one game, and a number of people individually and collectively playing it. One group of people solved one puzzle faster, and so they were the ones to go to the drop site that was unlocked. They have shared the discoveries -- as good game players should. This is how all ARGs for major motion pictures have been played in the past decade.

So they shared the phone number?

Well that's just not true at all. Sigh.

One group of people solved one puzzle faster, and so they were the ones to go to the drop site that was unlocked. They have shared the discoveries -- as good game players should.

Except one person got the message from the Simulator because of formulas and theories posted here by other players. We all played that game to order for them to continuously move the goals to higher and higher days of survival. Then they decided to form a group on their own after posting it here. They didn't solve anything except going to a location and entering a combination key. Just the fact that they tried to undo the releasing of the information to make sure that someone in their circle obtained the items is what makes them shady and untrustworthy.

How are you even taking their side on this matter? It makes no sense.

Nah man, it took a lot of skill to beat the world's worst browser game.

TheMagicJesus - Today at 4:02 AM they lack the skill

I disagree with this. The Magic Jesus has consistently been top of the leader-boards and that's down to him refining his own methods to an art. He deserved to receive that message, and frankly you should be grateful, as he's unlocked most of the previous messages by hitting previous goals as well.

I should be grateful lol.

I'm not taking their side, because there are no sides. There are players in a game. Some of those players are on Reddit, some are on Unfiction, some are on Discord. I've played a number of ARGs and it has always worked like this, so I can understand their motivations to find the drop themselves -- who wouldn't want to? They're releasing the discoveries to the broader community, which is the important part of all of this.

How is not posting the information releasing the discoveries to a broader community? Posting it here places everything in the open. Like I said, everything here is public and not behind doors. How is keeping the phone number to "DAD" not withholding information? Their motivations make no sense other than an attempt to stay relevant or for attention.

If you don't think there's sides you're not paying very much attention.

I don't want there to be sides, but there are. That's the entire source of this drama.

You're making sides. Focus on playing the game instead, that's what we're here for.

Honest question for you, not trying to be a dick just want your honest input, how do you personally feel about the one girl refusing to give the number to anyone else?

According to his logic it's completely fine as other ARGs have done it in the past. Apparently leaving an entire community out to dry is perfectly acceptable.

She's asleep right now, from what I understand. I expect she'll share it with everyone tomorrow. That should certainly be shared.

That wasn't posted until after they had someone enroute to the drop. The information should have been public as soon as he got the message, and she should have posted everything about the phone before going to sleep.

Also, the load out for the winning game was never shared with us for someone else to attempt it. Working together we could have gotten through these puzzles faster, IMO of course.

So if that's the case, why don't you share the phone number with us?
