I almost wish that sometimes gold, sometimes shit show had an hour timeslot instead of 30 mins. They don't have time to get into many issues when they have their "political"(for lack of a better word) episodes. The 2 I remember (republican episode, and this one), the teen guy, whatever his name is, will bring up a point, opposite to his elders, and instead of them delving into both sides of the debate, they just dismiss his.

For example, he brings up that Laurence Fishburnes character knew jackshit about the case, and that the officers did do somethings right, and that they aren't all KKK members, but it is just dismissed, instead of discussing it. Episodes like this are supposed to make you think, instead of just confirm your bias. Honestly who the fuck watches this show except black people. I'm not even being racist. The only reason I've watched a single episode of this show is because I'm black. It was funny for a little, but after a while "hah stereotypes" gets old.

Another thing I wished was changed was the Obama scene. Instead of delving into fearing his assassination, I wish they wouldve noted that nothing changed( since nothings fucking changed ) and that racism is still the same as it was in 2008. It will probably be the same until the old fucks die.

I think a lot of white people watch the show. It's got amazing joke writing and likeable characters. It's kind of got everything one would want in a sitcom.

It's a hilarious show. Plenty of white people watch it.

I disagree, I liked the episode. I am glad prime time TV is addressing this issue. Things have changed since 2008, an episode like this would have never aired then. Also Charlie is right about Diane.

I never said I disliked the episode, I'm just saying they could've actually made people think instead of just saying what everyone else has been saying for 3 years.

what everyone else has been saying for 3 years.

Saying for 3 years on which network TV shows?

I guarantee you this show would not be in its second season on ABC if only black people watched it

TBH - I thought they were going to go there too and that would have been something. But what they did was still a powerful moment.

Nothing's changed? Your memory must be different from mine. In 2008, they wouldn't have even aired this episode.
