Almost everywhere on reddit it's hostile to be a libertarian or republican. I wonder if this is how the jews were feeling in 1930 germany? Public sentiment is getting to a ferver pitch about every little thing nowadays.

I feel it in the real world. Not just reddit.

I found myself sitting at a large dinner party last weekend. 30-ish people. Near me a conversation erupted with just this tone. Loudly and proudly, the impunity with which people vomit cruelty.

I kept my mouth shut. It's a fearful position to be in. Being obviously the minority in a room full of a hateful majority.

I wonder if this is a perception/confirmation bias, where we just start to notice this more or if things are really changing. I wonder how we're supposed to measure something like this, in order to see if there is a problem brewing that is about to explode or not.

People here occasionally have talked about a need to leave the US and I'm starting to think this is becoming more of a physical reality than simply being butthurt. With banning of cash occurring and people getting arrested for defaulting on student loans, it seems like the state is beginning to tighten down on non-conformists.

Whatever the case, I think it would be the mark of intelligent, personally-responsible people to have an exit plan ready nonetheless. We should do some AnCap/Libertarian/propertarian meetups around the country, find some like-minded people geographically near us, and hatch some plans.

Socialists tend to get shootey, especially at propertarians, when they get riled up.

Beginning?

I welcome hostility on reddit. People reveal just how weak their arguments are and thin skinned they are on the internet when they go on the offensive while sitting comfortably within their circle jerks. If you check my comment history you will see me debating leftists and luddites alike, it doesn't take long before they resort to personal attacks and cry like little faggots. These types of people are the same way in real life.

I would normally say this is like pissing in the ocean and today I bowed out of a lot of threads because it all seemed pointless.

However I have noticed that after finding myself alone in anti-vaxx threads for the past couple of years, just recently more people are joining me. So maybe you're right, one man against the mob can make a difference over time, but it sure is discouraging in the moment.

One man with courage can give strength to others, I've seen it happen. I've made it happen.
Never keep your mouth shut, especially in public.

Do you really think this compares to the plight of the Jews?
