Making all of the worlds most influential music, movies, games, weapons? We invented the largest deterent to traditional warfare, ever. We made that. I don't know how many places down you have to go down in the list of highest grossing international movies before you find one not made in America, but I'm guessing at least dozens if not hundreds. I would be shocked if any of the countries that beat us in those categories are larger than us. Homogenous, historically wealthy small European nations may beat us in a per capita assessment but I don't take those assessments very seriously. They've had every advantage in the course of history.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is #9 on IMDb's Top 250 films of all time, and it's Italian.

Shit.

If we were more cultured I probably would have known that.

Compared to big cities in the US, yeah, they kind of are.

The Scandinavian countries usually help up in comparison the United States in order to prove a point about quality of life? Yeah, usually. Only true 21st century metropolis' like London get that level of diverse, and that's a few cities against vast swaths of country.
