Well we have, but they still won't allow teachers to be armed.

If we armed teachers, there would have to be so many safety precautions, that it would be impractical for the teacher to have a gun. The gun would need to be locked up at all times, and still, there would be the one teacher that leaves their door unlocked and the drawer unlocked, and suddenly, there could be a student in possession of a deadly weapon. No way would teachers be allowed to carry the weapon on their person, as many students may be able to overpower their teachers. Guns+schools=more chances of school shootings.

Even having armed, highly trained guards at school is dangerous. The linebackers on the football team couldn't give two shits if the armed guard(s) at their school are ex-Marines or an Army Ranger. If they could overpower them to take a deadly weapon, there's a chance that they will. It's not even the number of guards that would matter. It only takes one.

Also, no, don't abolish schools. I hope this is clear why.
