When my dad learned they existed, he was confused as hell. Actually thought they were a terrorist group at first.

So did my father and most of the right wing portion of my family. When i tried to explain to them what it was, for weeks they gave me the stink eye until they realized I was not a converted Tusken Raider.

I see these comments all the time but ive never met any of these "right wingers" that appear to be so well known on reddit

Does your grandma/weird uncle have your email, do you read anything forwarded by them?

My grandmother shares like 10 Occupy Democrat posts a day on Facebook...

Have you ever been on Facebook?

Lol, my facebook is littered with feelgood washed up college liberal normies.

Facebook front page is different for everyone you know

I have a dude on my facebook who wan'ts to be a cop, and I think he is currently an armed security guard. He literally posts stuff saying he wants to shoot/kill muslims. Somehow hasn't gotten in any legal trouble, and maintains relationships with police. The dudes pretty much your stereotypical crazy right winger, except he is gay, but he hates trannies and thinks that they should be killed as well.

That's quite the little niche he's carved out for himself, there. I'm picturing a fabulous gay hitler.

In my facebook I get bombarded with Sanders and occupydemocrats spam everyday. I swear their shitposts are buzzfeed level bad. Just today I was in an argument with someone who shared one of these shitposts because I was so tired of seeing this bullshit on the front page.

Also, the Donald Trump = Hitler comparisons are unironically being posted, oh and by the way I saw someone yesterday write off the Refugee rape of cologne as Germany's fault for not integrating them well or something.

Facebook looks like Democratic Underground for me, a bunch of blue pilled SJW's whining about what offends them more and how everyone who isn't a red blooded communist is evil and should be executed.

On the bright side, his background check will be over pretty quick

I'm blessed to have a Facebook cluttered by right-wingers from different countries. It makes for an odd yet entertaining environment...

yes all the time, i have yet to see any posts like everyone is talking about.

I grew up in West Virginia. I can co firm these people are indeed real.

Christ, I'm in Texas and I'm surrounded by them on a daily basis.

You poor bastard.

I've never lived in Texas, but I've spent some time there. The stereotype of the "Texas right winger" is a very real thing, and it is scary as fuck. Not everyone is like that, of course, but some are.

Hell, I live in Colorado now and it is very much a thing. You'd think a state with legal Marijuana wouldn't be so uptight.

They are super common if you live in a conservative area. I'm from suburban Texas, and I can confirm that these sorts of views are totally normal. I live in Northern California now, and I wouldn't believe these people were common if I hadn't met so many already.

About a week ago I saw someone on reddit claim that right wingers were complaining about Paul Ryan's beard, claiming it was "Muslimish." I spend a decent amount of time browsing conservative leaning subreddits and websites, and I talk to other conservative minded people regularly but that was my first and only time hearing about his beard lol.

Do you converse with people older than 55 on a regular basis? If not that might be why. Members of my family who represent the right wing are all older than I am. I am an only child in a family filled with ultra conservatives and borderline tea-party nutters. Meanwhile I just try to keep an open mind and take this sort of stuff as it comes to me.

Na, they just held water for them. 50% of the content was devoted to bashing Western countries and another 25% was a whitewashing campaign for Muslims.

I'm all for differences of opinion but that network is pure unadulterated shit.

They were actually one of the best sources for news coming out of the Islamic world because they actually had contacts there which most US organizations lack.

When CNN sends someone to a Muslim country, they never see the outside of a four-star hotel or some fake-shit their fixers send them out to - it's all contrived.

Al Jazeera could get stories from places US journalists wouldn't or couldn't go.

Don't forget their articles related to Qatar or Hamas..

So RT basically?

...and CNN and Fox and MSNBC and BBC (sometimes) they all have their own personal agenda and almost always give completely biased news.

50% of the content was devoted to bashing Western countries and another 25% was a whitewashing campaign for Muslims.

I was going to ask you for a citation but then looked at the user name, the typical election year trolls are out in full force shitting all over the internet again

You can tell they haven't actually read/watched Al Jazeera. Otherwise they would realise how stupid what they're saying is.

No kidding. I never watched the channel, but the web site is awesome. No sensationalist bullshit.

What? Al Jazeera America must be very different to all other AJ outlets. They're one of the best news organisation around.

They're good in the USA, too, most people are just scared off by the name...

Yes because god forbid Americans should have access to a news network that you people don't control.

Hey, I like my propaganda to validate my tribe and villanize everyone elses! Isnt that how you like your propaganda?

50% of the content was devoted to bashing Western countries and > another 25% was a whitewashing campaign for Muslims.

Still not as bad as MSNBC!

Way better then Faux

They ALL suck. Every last one of them.

This is so hilarious I almost pissed myself.

Your news is the same. Doesn't matter what news you favor, only the beneficiary of the propaganda is different.

Once Al Jazeera America completed their mission of embarrassing Middle America's greatest sports hero there was no reason to continue the operation.
