Japan's Current Account Surplus Jumps to 1.14 T. Yen in Nov.

   Tokyo, Jan. 12 (Jiji Press)--Japan's current account surplus in November more than doubled from a year before to 1,143.5 billion yen, the Ministry of Finance said Tuesday.
   The result far outpaced the median forecast of 877.5 billion yen among 22 economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press.
   Japan logged a goods and services trade deficit of 209.9 billion yen, much smaller than the year-before deficit of 729.0 billion yen, the ministry said in a preliminary balance of payments report.
   In goods trade, Japan's deficit shrank to 271.5 billion yen from 631.2 billion yen. Exports were down 6.3 pct at 5,923.3 billion yen, and imports down 10.9 pct at 6,194.7 billion yen.
   The surplus on the primary income account expanded 21.2 pct to 1,542.3 billion yen.
