There are both formal and hunting and others? My sister in law makes kilts, so my brother (lucky guy) has 3 different ones: hunting, formal and ancient. Do they have that for your clan? I looked up Buchanan and here are the results. I kinda like the Buchanan Old Mod, but I see what you mean. I should make the assumption that you know all of this, being from Scotland and all. I may be wrong about any of this so please correct me.

My cousin is in the LA Scots and competes at worlds every year, which is pretty cool. Have you ever been to see the competition?

Yes there are, you get dress, which tends to have white as a predominant colour, hunting (greener generally), ancient (sort of a more brash original) and other colours such as muted (which I am getting). I'll cover it in the guide, though briefly, as it's a guide on the outfit, not the tartans.

Never been, though pipers from my old school do fantastically every year at it.
