I used Zidane, Freya, Amarant, and Quina. They can all hit a reliable 9999 (except Amarant sometimes with No Mercy) and they all have high enough hp for auto regen to kick in and auto win the fights for you.

Steiner uses too much MP to hit reliable 9999s although this isn't a concern for the strongest bosses (Ozma, Hades, and Necron).

That does seem rather absurd, a PSX emulator will take a few hundred MB of RAM. They appear to have increased the texture resolution which will increase the RAM footprint but 2GB seems ridiculously high.

A low level run in FFIX is perfectly viable, but you need to know what you're doing. I think you'll want a couple of encounters at least (for the purpose of learning some Blue Magic, for example), but you could turn them off for the most part.
If you just wanna use the feature for a couple annoying trips on the world map or whatever, it should be fine in any case. It's probably the least grindy Final Fantasy.

Yes, I noticed that as well. I took some time to get use to the Mobile Phone UI, but after awhile, the categorization was overall better for magic ect. I just wish they did something to improve Gau's Rage shit since attempting to get all of his rage's for his achievement is a fucking nightmare.

The former is entirely arbitrary since it doesn't refer to anything and there's no way to divine what the fuck the writers were going for. Ultimecia has become official by virtue of it being the way it was localized, and I think it's used in japanese materials too, now, so that's they way it is.

FF13 would've been much better if they weren't forced to remove half the game and dumb down the other half to work on X360 hardware because the CEO was a complete asshole and announced X360 version on E3 when the team was already far in development with PS3 and didn't even know they'd be making it for X360 as well until said announcement. The art was consistent. Consistency fucking matters. Not one element of this shitty port matches another element and even on their own lack even a sliver of artistic merit.

Its shit. The UI became less efficient. The art direction was scattered to the abyss. The color palettes do not match the original, turning a burnt sky and sallow waters into fucking LAVA. The backgrounds have ungodly amounts of seams and other technical errors. The character sprites are out and out shit.

Running the original art through an oil filter does not make it look better. It has the same detail and information of the original, it's just blurred and smeared together. You can't create something from nothing. Either redraw the art in higher detail or use the low resolution original. Running the low resolution art through a filter is the worst possible solution.

The PSX shot is an upscale. Remodelling is not upscaling. They added details that absolutely will not aparate when upscaling the original model. They were physically added, altered, or modeled from scratch, and all acts qualify as a new model.

Its not the same model. Upscaling doesn't mean what you think it means. The old model was changed and the resulting new model is being used.

The PSX emulated example is upscaling. That model can be employed at all sorts of resolutions. Its only upscaling because it is on a scale larger than the original native game resolution.

The PC video is not upscaling. It is at its own native resolution and can similarly be upscaled or downscaled as needed. It is a remodel. A new model.
