HypervisorフレームワークはVMwareのESXやLinxuのKVM, MicrosoftのHyper-VにあたるApple製の仮想化フレームワークでOS X 10.10 Yosemiteから導入された技術ですが、このHypervisorフレームワークを用いて動作する仮想化アプリ「Veertu」がMac App Storeで公開されています。

　VeertuはイスラエルVeertu Labs LtdのIzik Eidusさんらが開発したOS X上に仮想環境を構築できるアプリで、以前紹介したxhyveのフロントエンドのようなアプリです。

使ってみた

　VeertuはAppleのHypervisorフレームワークを利用しているためアプリのサイズは20MBほどしかなく、Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora, Debian)のインストールは無料で利用できるので試してみました。

　使い方はVeertuを起動してプリセットされているLinuxディストリビューションを選択、自動的にイメージファイルがダウンロードされ仮想マシンが構築されます。

　後はLinuxのインストールプロセスに進んで言語やユーザー名、タイムゾーンなどを設定すれば仮想環境の構築が完了します。

　Veertuは内課金制で39.99ドル(4,800円)を支払えばISOやメディアなどを利用したWindows 10/8およびカスタムLinuxのインストールができるそうなので、興味のある方は試してみてください。
