Advertised for quite some time now is the upcoming New Years lucky bag, Pokémon Center edition. The cost per bag is 5,000 yen and will be packed with random products by the official center. The contents usually amount to more than the asking price so we can estimate that the products should be valued at around 7,000-10,000 yen worth. We now have confirmation that the first ever Movie 2016 merchandise will be arriving in Japan shortly. These are gacha capsule prizes, which will feature Pokémon from the anime series, that may also feature in the film, such as Ash-Greninja and Zygarde formes. Of course this is speculation and we don't want to commit ourselves at such an early stage, but it is interesting to see so many Mega evolutions also, alongside the new additions to the XY & Z anime series. Note : This is the first ever confirmed Volcanion piece of merchandise. 300 yen per capsule. Prize list as follows :

Pokémon 2DS Bundles for 20th Anniversary/Pokémon 3DS Face Plates/Red Lucario Kuji Figurine - 25/12/2015

The latest news released by the Official Nintendo site has revealed upcoming 2DS bundles for the virtual console edition of Red, Blue, Green and Yellow for Japanese release. These will also feature brand new in-built themes and be packed with exclusives, including a Mew event code (Reedemable until March 31st 2017) from the game release on the 27th of February, 2016. Along with this, customers will be getting Ken Sugimori design stickers, as well as a poster size Kanto map (33cm×44cm). (Cost per bundle : 9,980 yen).

Note : New Nintendo 3DS face plates have been revealed for Japan, also with a 20th anniversary release date, which will feature retro sprites from the original games across the front of both plates. (Cost : 2,000 yen).

Finally, as part of the update we see that the new special colour red costume Lucario kuji figurine keychain will be featured in the Pokken Wii U bundle coming to Japan in March, 2016. This will be available for preorder on Boxing day, 2016 and will be accompanied by the Mewtwo Amiibo Card inside the boxset. (Cost for POKKÉN TOURNAMENT bundle : 7,200 yen).

New Pokémon 3DS Themes revealed/PokéKyun BREAK Collection - 22/12/2015

In the Nintendo updates, we now have the first imagery of the newly announced and released 3ds themes that have gone live in Japan. These themes are set to be released in Europe later this week. The Japanese eShop has them listed as 200 yen per theme. The Pokémon themes are called Kokeshi dolls, PokéKyun and Pyokkori respectively. They will feature Eevee, Pikachu, Mew and several other Pokémon, as well as music in the background from Pokémon Black and White as well as X & Y.

Note : The U.S. and Europe will only get two themes released in eShop (Kokeshi dolls, and Pyokkori themes).

The PokéKyun is a new addition for the BREAK TCG collection, which will go on sale in Japan (Friday) January 29th, 2016. RRP of TCG card pack is ¥ 186 + tax. (Note : this TCG set is a mini series made up of only 32 cards.) Also note that the 20th Anniversary Starter Pack has been officially announced set for release on the 27th of February, 2016. The cost of the Pack will be 1,300 yen.

Pokémon Center Confirms New Years special monthly Pikachu set/Ash-Greninja & Zygarde 10% Plush - 18/12/2015

We now have confirmation that the Pikachu New Years plush will be priced at 2,500 Yen across Japanese Pokemon Centers. Due to confusion amongst some posters getting dates mixed up, we now know that they'll 100% be released on January 1st, 2016. The female is wearing a beautiful kimono, and the male Pikachu is dressed in the stylish yukata.

Following our reveal a few days also, the company have confirmed that on Boxing Day that the Ash-Greninja and Zygarde 10% plush will be making their debut releases. This comes as a surprise given that the reveal only happened a few days back, but a swift release is in place with Ash-Greninja costing 3,200 yen, and the Zygarde dog only 2,000 yen suggesting there be a size difference.

Although no vital information has been published by the official website, we can see that Volcanion has been confirmed as the main Pokemon character for the upcoming film titled "Pokemon the movie XY & Z" yet to be given an official working title. In the second poster, we see that Zygarde Core will make an appearance in the move, but does his involvement mark an important one? Pokkén Tournament Wii U Bundle/Special Controller revealed for Japanese release/New Support announced - 15/12/2015

Last month you might recall the reveal during the Nintendo Direct via Japan that a new Pokkén/Wii U Bundle announced, but didn't follow any details or pictures. Now, the first details and image of the Wii U Pokkén Tournament bundle have been revealed. The cost of the Japanese bundle will be 36,800¥ and come with a 32GB Black Wii U Premium Set, a digital version of Pokkén Tournament, with Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card & also a special leaflet of the Battle Pokémon Action List, a leaflet which showcases all the movesets of the Pokémon. Release date is March 18th 2016.

A special controller is set to be released in Japan for Pokkén Tournament, it can be revealed. The cost of controller will be 3,480¥ and is set to be released on March 18th 2016. The game is also compatible with the Wii U Pro Controller and the Classic Controller Pro.

We now have confirmation since our reveal a few months ago that Pikachu WE MEET AGAIN plush will be released in Japan by Banpresto on the 26th of January, 2016. The Pikachu Plush will stand at 25cm high, so making it a big plush indeed. And the I LOVE MEW plush set which we also exclusively revealed previously, are set for a release date for the 21st of January, 2016. These will only be small plush at 13cm in height.

To roundup the busy day of news is a very special HUGE Pikachu/Charizard Nebukuro sleepy bag plush, this time it will be a big 25cm one. This will be a hugely collectible item as the regular versions were, and will be released the 22nd of January, 2016.

Pokémon Company Officially Announce Volcanion - 14/12/2015

Following our CoroCoro news update on the 12th this month, we have confirmation that Volcanion is now released by the franchise, but news of an event is yet to come. Be sure to check back as we'll update the site once we have any news on that front.

Official Note : A new Mythical Pokémon has been found in the world of Pokémon, which cannot be encountered through regular gameplay. This Pokémon’s name is Volcanion!

Unlike any Pokémon discovered before it, this Pokémon is both Fire and Water type. It uses fire and water to create steam within its body, expelling explosive shock waves and boiling steam from the arms on its back. The power is said to be great enough to blow away an entire mountain, gouging out the earth and changing the shape of the land.

With a huge credit to our friend Zombiemiki (visit blog for more pictures : we hugely recommend) who is currently out in Japan enjoying the Mega Campaign in Mega Tokyo - brought us high quality exclusive pictures of the wall art/postcard artwork that is currently featured at the Center outside the front entrance. If you've seen already, the Pikachu poncho events have been making appearances across Japanese Pokemon Centers - in which several famous Japanese bloggers have already posted about.

The opening day was a hugely successful and busy one - with several of our contacts being extremely busy due to the shoppers buying new releases. The Mega Campaign, Sleepy plush, and lion dance monthly Pikachu were all released together, making it a ridiculously busy release day. We had confirmation that two new releases are to come, Monthly Pikachu as New Years specials - Male and Female plush special set are priced at 2,500 yen and will be released the 1st of January 2016. (See Upcoming Section)

Note : It was stated by some contacts that Sleepy BIG plush sold at several Centers within a few hours (But since have been restocked). The Mega Campaign has been hugely successful as expected, but there is still plenty of stock throughout a majority of Centers.

Postcards Notice : In order to get the secret postcards - you must order certain foods from Sunshine City restaurants and you will receive one at random (Event postcards run December 12th 2015 - January 31st 2016).

Events : Several pieces of information has arised including the special events revealed for the Pokémon Center in Hiroshima in Japan. Serebii.net had confirmed these events are repeats of some popular events from the last 2 years and run monthly. In January, a repeat of the Shiny Mega Charizard Y event will run. In February, a repat of the Shiny Rayquaza event will run. In March, a repeat of the Shiny Mega Gengar event will run. In April, a repeat of the recent Mega Evolution Egg event will run. In May, a repeat of the PokéBall Pattern Vivillon event will run and finally in June a repeat of the Shiny Pikachu event will run.

Also, the Pokemon living room TV set, which features on the show Pokenchi has appeared in Sunshine City, Tokyo.

New Pokémon CoroCoro scans reveal Volcanion to debut in Movie 2016 - 12/12/2015

CoroCoro magazine has been leaked and here we can see that the big news has arrived. Volcanion has been revealed as the next main Pokémon to feature in the 2016 movie next summer. Although we've known about Volcanion's existence for quite some time now, the Water/Fire type will be making it's debut in the film Pokémon the movie 'XY & Z 2016' which has a confirmed date of July 16th, 2016.

New Pokémon Merchandise released/Mega Campaign one/BIG Sleepy/Kuji/Monthly Lion Dance Pikachu - 12/12/2015

The Pokémon Centers across Japan have officially released the 'Mega Campaign', which will feature keychains that will accompany the plush revealed by Pokeshopper previously. Also, the release of the earlier announced Mega Diancie Event goes live there also. For each purchase of 2,000 yen+ (including tax), two free business cards will be distributed, included the rare GOLD Mega Rayquaza card. Various poncho appearances of Pikachu, to be at Pokemon Centers nationwide in Japan to promote the campaign. The video also revealed artwork of Pikachu in various other mega costumes, including Mega Rayquaza, Diancie, Latios & Latias, Mewtwo Y, Pinsir, Scizor, Mawile, Lopunny, Gallade & Gardevoir, and Ampharos.

So far, the merchandise lineup confirmed in Pokemon Fan will be the regular plush (7 types, pictured above), mascot plush, acrylic die-cut keychains (7 types), and hand towels (7 types) and both Charizard lifesize ponchos.

Notes from the 18/11/2015 : The Pokémon Company have announced a brand new series of Pikachu crossover plush, which will include new Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Altaria, Mega Slowbro, Mega Sableye, Mega Lucario and finally Mega Audino. These beautiful looking plush will be released as set one, so stay tuned to hear more about further sets coming in future!

A brand new TCG promo has been revealed also. 203/XY-P will feature Mega Audino, Mega Lucario and Mega Slowbro Pikachu Crossover and be distributed across Pokemon Centers to promote the campaign. Will be given out to customers that spend over 1,000 yen. Along with this special promo, the company have announced brand new Mega Pikachu business cards, which are to be given out after 2,000 yen spent at the campaign across Japan.

Also, a Shiny Event Diancie will be distributed with the campaign only obtainable through ORAS, and will hold a Diancite. Event will run from 12th of December- 31st of December 2015.

As promised we would bring images of the Mega Charizard X & Y ponchos which were announced when the campaign first appeared on the official account. We're really excited to see these ponchos, especially as we have done a review on the Mega Tokyo poncho, which is fantastic high quality with great detail on the tail, wings and it being very warm and cozy to wear. We are delighted to say that new merchandise has been announced with Mega Campaign number one to bring Mega Pikachu gacha figures - set to be released January 16th, prizes at random (300 yen per play). Also, we see that Card sleeves (362 yen per pack) and special Mega Campaign box Pikazard X & Y sets, which will be going on sale on New Years day at 2,500 yen per box. Each box will also come with five booster packs: 2x Rage of the Broken Sky, 1x Rising Fist, 1x Phantom Gate, and 1x Emerald Break. If you spend 1,000 yen, customers will get a special Poncho-Clad Pikachu X or Y edition card.

From January 1st, Pokemon Center customers will receive 1 card for every 2,000 yen spent, as we reported before in the Mega Campaign leak via YouTube.

Following the leak via Serebii two days ago, we had a fair idea that Sceptile would be revealed on the 12th of December as promised via the official Pokken twitter account. We also can confirm that the support will be Farfetch'd and Electrode. Sceptile will have the ability to Mega evolve and has some absolutely amazing moves judging by the trailer. The character and support Pokemon will go live December 16th, 2015.

The latest Eevee 3ds accessories have been revealed via Amazon Japan, and here we see the Eevee Party arrive. The cover case for 3DS LL will show case all the Eeveelutions, and will be priced at ¥ 2,678. The Eeveelutions will also appear on the card case in different design, but very cute all the same. The card case is listed at ¥ 1,173. The stylus comes in at ¥ 1,058 and pouch completes the set ¥ 1,154.

Following our exciting announcement last Friday morning, we now have confirmation regarding the ALL STAR collection, with series two coming out in 2016. They will feature Pikachu medium, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, and Mew small sized plush. Snorlax and Ditto will complete the release as cushions, making it all round Kanto celebration. These gorgeous plush will be released 2 days before the 20th anniversary mark which is no coincidence based on how much merchandise is already set for release around that time.

We now have a scan of the merchandise in the advert in the right hand side picture. Bottom section we can also see Weavile, Machamp figurines not mentioned in the prizes listed. New secret Pokemon plush have been announced via Amazon Japan and set for release along side the ALL STAR plush released on the same day, which we reported about yesterday morning. These beautiful editions will be of Arcanine, Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon. Arcanine is priced at ￥2,160, while the Eeveelutions will be marked at ￥1,296.

"Steiff" Pokémon Pikachu Teddy Bear to open reservations for Japan only - 03/12/2015

Way back in July, we had confirmation that World famous German based Steiff Teddy bear company will be making a brand new limited edition Pikachu. And with it will be the standard label, along with a special Pikachu Steiff badge apparent on the chest of the bear. Pikachu's height is approximately 280mm, and will only be available in Japan via reservation on the GOOD SMILE Co. Official website. Production is extremely limited to only 1,000 made, so the Pikachu Steiff will be a heavily sought after plush once available. (Reservations begin 04/12/2015).

We are delighted to showcase the new hoodies for the Pikachu Build a Bear which will be released in 2016 to coincide with the Pokemon 20th anniversary. We also see that the tag will have the iconic logo, and as you can see will be a high quality plush with a bear like resemblance. The card has also been revealed, as a special edition Build A Bear branded card. The Pikachu sound box will also have six different Pika sounds, which will be inside the Pikachu to make it even more adorable.

Banpresto XY & Z Pokémonlife Picnic Plush/Face cushions revealed - 01/12/2015

The next instalment of Pokémon XY & Z series plush and face cushions can now be revealed. Here we see three new Pikachu plush, and versions A (Berry holding) and B (Basket) will be 13cm in height, and C version will be a laying plush. The cushions will be 25cm in height x 10cm width, and have flowers in the corner by the ear, both versions A and B will be opposites to suit your couch or sofa.
