This location leak is intentional. For example, it allows the sites with weather forecast to target your location, not mine. It you want to hide your location, there are plenty of tools for it (proxies, Tor, Hola, etc).
I think to write about technical side a bit later. So far there is a big gap between the vision (“how it should work”) and reality (”how does it work“).
