When I first built this website, I was emotional very much.
I was happy that my mother Keiko decided to take one step forward after her difficult time.
I wrote the introduction of Sashi.Co by following ( or "being controlled by") the overflowing emotion. It ended up with difficult English to understand.
Therefore, I am re-writing the decent introduction to Sashi.Co. However, I do not want to forget how grateful I was on October 2014. So here I share the log of my passion, and unstoppable emotion ;)
Sashi.Co is a brand name for a team of two Sashiko enthusiasts, Atsushi and Keiko Futatsuya.
You might have heard the Sashiko brand called, “Hida Sashiko.”
Until the October 16th 2013, when the previous CEO of Hida Sashiko unfortunately had passed away, Keiko and Atsushi were a part of the great Sashiko culture.
As you might recall, Atsushi is the son of CEO (who used to be the 3rd generation of Hida Sashiko), and Keiko is the mother of Atsushi, who passionately designed and produced many beautiful jackets by implementing very unique designs and techniques on fabric.
Atsushi is writing this introduction to Sashi.Co on behalf of us.
As much as we wanted to pass down this beautiful culture to next generation on our own hands, we unfortunately forced to leave the company after our loss of my father.
When this tragedy happened, We thought we should just give up the love for Sashiko, in order to forget everything about we experienced. The chaotic drama hurt us badly, and we couldn’t deal with the memories. We just wanted to have some peace after… well, it was too much to share after all.
However, no matter how hard we tried to hate Sashiko, we couldn’t achieve it successfully. It is simply because the love to Sashiko exist within us. We just cannot forget Sashiko. Sashiko used to be our lives, identities, and everything we had spent life for.
We just had an anniversary for my father on October 16th in 2014.
October 16th now became the day when we restarted what we used to love.
The step might be little bit slow. We lost pretty much everything. We have no company, no stuffs, no suppliers, and no patents which Atsushi registered for Hida Sashiko.
Regardless of this situation, We have passion, skills, and Sashiko fans all over the world who have been supportive for us. That's what matter, we believe.
This is another journey of Sashiko.
This time, just with the people who sincerely love Sashiko.
And, we call it "Sashi.Co"
