Why would Trump want to go to the UK in the first place, the last place he'd want to go is a place filled with muslims.

Fox News: Trump follows George Washington and declares he'll never set foot on British soil again.

You never actually watch Fox News do you?

Yeah they hate the guy. They try to conceal it (just a little), but they hate him.

Fox has a Uuuge boner for Carly Fiorina though.

In the respect of ratings, they're exactly like MSNBC, they love the guy, but they also don't like him politically. Culturally, Fox would like any republican to win outside of Trump or Rand Paul.

You don't watch much Fox, do you?

I don't. Does Fox not like Trump?

Not really. They are more focused on Fiorina and Carson. They talk about Trump, but it definitely is a distanced relationship in many ways still.

I know this because my grandparents watch Fox News 24/7 AND the ladies on that show are hot as hell...Kinda hard to want to watch anything else with those legs!

TLDR - Scottish farmer called Forbes refuses to sell his farm to Trump. Trump has a hissy fit and tries to bully farmer Forbes. Farmer Forbes tells Trump to stuff his money up his arse. Farmer Forbes wins the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Awards. Trump now hates Glenfiddich.

This isn't on my list of usual go to brands of whisky. But you know what? It is now. I'm going to go buy a bottle this week.

I think the 15 solera is meant to be a good starters whiskey. the 15 DE looks ok as well. I have heard that the older expressions are actually pretty good though. TBH don't know a huge amount about GF though

Well, sensing a fellow whisky lover, I'm currently into the Auchentoshan triple distilled lowland single. To be honest I'd drink anything half decent.

I've only had the American Oak from Auchentoshan. It was nice but a bit uninspiring. I'm currently drinking The Balvenie Caribbean Cask and Laphroig Quarter Cask. Both highly reccomended. I think I'm going to get a bottle of Old Pulteney as a volume drinker for xmas...

Laphroig Quarter Cask

I like that one. Had some earlier in the year. I also have fantastic memories of being backstage at a theater in London, an actress and a bottle of Balvenie. Whisky does stuff, good stuff.

Misread Balvenie as "balverine," thought the "stuff" whisky did was turn you both into horrible werewolf creatures

balvenie is great. the doublewood is nice as well.

Laphroig QC is a classic for a reason...

I have not tried any of the Auchentoshan yet I was looking to try it when I found the Glenkinchie 12 instead.

TBH I wouldnt bother with the auchentoshen unless its one of the more expensive expressions. the standard american oak is a bit boring. if you want a clean tasting whiskey at that price go for an american bourbon like buffalo trace / woodfordes etc.

I'm currently into Glenkinchie 12 year old and its a lowland and i say it's very good. I haven't made my way into any highlands whiskey yet though.

Glenfidditch is good (in general, I can't speak to specific bottles). It doesn't quite have the bold flavor that a Lagavulin or an Oban does, or the sweetness of a Glenmorangie, but it's a really good Scotch, especially if you're just getting started on whiskey. Very smooth and relatively light.

TBH i find Glenmorangie's standard expression a bit rough. although it gets a bit better with some water. The nectar d'or and the quinta ruban are more interesting and a bit more refined though - I really like the quinta ruban, the nectar d'or doesnt have much going on and is probably not worth the price, although is a good summer whiskey.

Quinta Ruban was great, I thought. The standard I'm still a big fan of the standard Glenmorangie, but the 18 is one of the best Scotches I've ever had.

He built a fence around the home of a couple who refused to sell (for a piddly 15% over the property's market value), then sent them the bill for it. It really goes to show how petty he is, as obviously nobody would pay it.

I didn't realise that Trump campaign platform of building a fence and trying to get someone else to pay for it had precedent.

and then fought to not have a wind farm in view of his golf course... what a total dickstain...

The best thing I can say about Trump from what I have read and seen so far is that he is an ignorant and vindictive asshole. His character seems to go downhill from there. Why anyone would vote for this racist fuckwad is beyond me, but then I have never understood US politics...

I mean, there you go. The United States has a TON of ignorant, vindictive assholes who feel marginalized by societal progress. Trump running for president is telling all of these people that it's okay to be a hateful idiot, because nobody has the guts to stop you anymore.

Dude its America you can't just force people to stop thinking a certain way...

Funnily enough, if Trump were to win the presidency he will have to divorce himself from his business interests during his term, meaning he couldn't lift a finger to help out that particular case, nor the one in Ireland

Not true. POTUS gets to keep running his own businesses.

For real?

At the very least, he definitely gets to keep receiving income from his businesses. He may have to have someone else run them for him.

Yes you damn commie, capitalism stops for no one!

Trump now hates Glenfiddich

Philistine.

I know it's not fancy, I know there's better and there's certainly Whisky I like more, but Glendfiddich is solid. At a very good price. If you ever feel like getting your feet wet with single malts, the 12yold is the one to get. Goes for about 30 Euros a bottle, here. It's the volume that makes the price, here, it's a "noone ever disagrees with it" kind of Whisky.

Drink at room temperature (chilling kills taste, always), with a couple of drops of soft water mixed in (yes, adding water actually causes chemical reactions that set free shorter-lived aroma compounds). If you want, add more water, just don't turn it into gnat piss.

Of course, don't do that if you just want to get drunk, that's too expensive. By vodka or what the Yanks dare to call whiskey, then. You drink whisky by the sip, not by the dram.

He says trump can take his money and shove it up his arse. Brilliant.

..wow that story. Why would anybody support that arse?

[–]fuck_you_rhenoplos [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

Why would anyone want to build a golf course next to the North Sea is my first question, LOL. Even in Summer you're gonna be lucky to have a nice day with low wind in Aberdeen

[–]Drudid [

theres a shit ton of golf courses on the cliffs between Aberdeen and Edinburgh, whenever you get the train between them you get the sea on one side and golf courses the other.

Ignorance. Trust me it's the most common thing in every trump supporter and I'm surrounded by them.

He built his own golf course in Scotland.

Ya and destroyed the whole area and ruined the lives of anyone who stood against him.

And your government let him.

He leveraged his power and money to get his own way. We hate those politicians involved just as much as trump.

[–]YOUR_SOCK_IS_UNTIED [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

Thank you. It's not like he just waltzed on over and said, "fuck it, let's build a golf course." Then got started. He had to get permission to clear the land and build, your elected officials or epa type body is to blame too.

I think his Golf Course is a good thing, the oil aint gonna last forever and we need a reason to get people who spend a lot of money to come visit Aberdeen. A Trump Golf course is one way of doing that.

Is one side of the story. The other side is that he brought a shit ton of jobs to the people and money to the economy of the local area.

I don't have an opinion on the matter personally. But just trying to balance out the reddit circle jerk a little.

So... You're saying he's a good candidate for the American Presidency?

He's already been over here bulldozing people's homes against their will to clear the views from his luxury golf course.

I thought he was trying to get rid of the windmills because they had a twisted Disney Land look to them from the view on his course?

That's it. He compared the spoiling of the view of his golf course to the Lockerbie bombing, which is a great national tragedy for Scotland. Oddly enough, this did not go down well.

That's his next attack. He is spending loads of money objecting to some off-shore wind turbines that will probably be visible from parts of his golf course. The funny part is that he is objecting for environmental/ecological reasons (the danger to birds flying at that height, etc). This from the man who actually destroyed part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest - a protected ecological area that is normally off-limits to development.

[–]fuck_you_rhenoplos [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

Yep, doesn't/didn't Balmedie have some specific moss or plant that, for some reason, only grew there and a couple of other places in the world?

Rich people and their fucking views. The rest of us have to wok to live and they bitch about having to look at the stuff we need to run our refrigerators and heat and shit. Trump is such an embarrassment to humanity.

He's already been over here bulldozing people's homes against their will

Is this for real? He's bulldozing people's houses against their will? How is that even legal in the UK?

He bought a few out first and anyone who didn't want to sell were bullied relentlessly. As he owned the land surrounding their houses he basically inconvenienced them in a myriad of ways including cutting off their water, suing them for 'building' too close to his land and sending them expensive bills for whatever they could think of, even going as far as pursuing CPOs (Compulsory Purchase Orders) from the council, which force homeowners to sell their houses (usually only used for infrastructure like roads and railways, etc, where absolutely necessary).

He likes to come here occasionally to try and bully Scottish villagers out of their homes, destroy ancient sand dunes and complain about wind turbines if I remember correctly.

its less than 5% of the population... how is that = filled with Muslims? is /pol/ down or something?

Edit: I now realise that I fell for a sarcastic comment, sorry lads.

I'm assuming /u/block1 is joking. /u/block1 is asking why Trump want to come here if he believes that.

He isn't being sarcastic, check his comment history.

Though that population is very concentrated in a few locations. Namely London and the North West of England. Keep in mind too that the Muslim population of the UK more than doubled between 2001 and 2011. And that less than 5% accounts for around 3 million people.

Trump said that he thinks there are some parts of London the police don't go to because of Muslims. Nobody actually thinks this.

Edit: Jesus christ all these people in this thread taking what OP said 100% seriously. Are you people that fucking dense? "Muslims taking europe" is such a fucking common meme and so commonly used in banter it baffles me why so many of you react the way you do.

"This guy thinks the UK is filled with muslims!! But my facts say otherwise!! Look at these numbers, LOOK AT IT."

This is what you people look like to people who can take a joke

Do people actually call Scotland the 'North East' of the U.K.? I've never heard that before. I mean, I am aware it's factually correct. Just funny hearing it. I've never been in England or other parts of the U.K. and heard it referred to like that. Most people address it as Scotland.

It's funny. In the UK there's "The north" which covers the northern half of England, and then there's Scotland. The person your replying to is probably Scottish and taking about north east Scotland

Yeah it's weird, especially since I live in the North East of England which is still about a 6 hour drive away from Scotland or something.

[–]fuck_you_rhenoplos [スコア非表示]  (3子コメント)

o.o Uh... it only takes about 7 hours to get from Edinburgh to London!

I think /u/andyrocks means that Trump owns a golf course in the North East of Scotland, not referring to Scotland as the North East of the UK.

No they don't call Scotland 'the north east'.. If an English person says North East, they are talking about the area around Newcastle, Sunderland, Northumbria.. If a Scottish person says North East, they mean the area around Aberdeen, Grampian. If they are English they say North East of Scotland. That's where buggerlugs has his golf course.

The US and UK have the same amount of Muslims. Their population is just more dense over there.

He wants to build a golf course in Scotland or something doesn't he?

He owns a golf course in Scotland. He's been fighting with the government to take down some wind turbines because he thinks they're ugly.

Serious answer: Trump has a golf course he regularly uses in aberdeen(?) so he wouldn't be able to go back.

His multi-million dollar golf course (which has an equally expensive membership fee) that he built on a conservation area in Scotland is one reason why I want him banned. I fucking hate golf and his stupid hair.

Funny thing, the Scottish Nationalist Party put wind turbines up within view of his golf course and he complained but the locals petitioned for them to stay because he hated them.

[–]Fuck_the_rainforest [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)
