 SEIUN

For the Seiun, we have almost finished development, we are tweaking the final UI controls. 

We have completed the industrial design, tooling and just need your testing and taking it into mass manufacturing.

SEIUN PRO & PRO X

The Seiun Pro and Pro X need a little more work. They are much more advanced devices. The Pro & Pro X will be the first portable media players ever to combine 384KHz Audio & 4K Video. 

We developed a series of debugging units to stress-test every component of the devices performance before we moving on to the industrial design phase.

Though they may not seem like much, these debugging prototypes played a huge role in making sure none of our components would created bottlenecks. 

After verifying our proof of concept using the Demo Boards we partnered with the Liztic Team to develop our Music and Video Player applications. 

We had previously worked with Liztic to develop a Hi-Res Music Player App for Windows which will be paired with our upcoming Clarity DACs for easy playback of Native DSD and PCM Audio (learn more). 

So we were already confident in Liztic's ability to develop amazing software.

The UI for the Seiun Music & Video Player Apps will speak the same design language as our Windows App to create for a seamless user experience.

At the same time, our engineering team started on the final PCB & ID Design for the Seiun Pro & Pro X.

After the whole debugging process we are confident that the product that we will ship to you next year will have out of this world performance.

MASS PRODUCTION + QUALITY TESTING

- We have run our own test internally, however because of our limited size we would like your help making ensuring there are no problems with our Mass Manufacturing.

- We’ll do a limited production run of the Seiun, Seiun Pro and Seiun Pro X in November, December and January (respectively) and we’ll send those ‘Test units to backers’ before beginning our larger mass production run. You can opt in to this testing program during the post-campaign survey. This program will be completely optional

UI DEVELOPMENT, REFINEMENT and TESTING

- Developing the UI for the Seiun Pro and Pro X. We have partnered with Liztic Audio to create the A/V players for the Seiun. We’ve worked together to make sure all basic Hi-Res Audio player functions work along with 4K out.

- However, we need your help to build and bug test the apps music and video player apps to make sure they are ready for mass distribution. If you are interested in helping we will send you one of the units from our limited product run after the campaign. Once again this program will be completely optional! You can opt-in via the post campaign survey!

We started working with Michael and his Liztic Team on our creating Hi-Res Player for our Clarity DACs (launching soon on Amazon), little did we know that our project would turn into such a fruitful relationship. Michael and his team have been huge in providing us feedback on our products, connections in the industry and of course great software for our products!

- Ivan Ablamskyi (CEO/ Coppertino Software - Vox Player / Loop Cloud) and His Team
Ivan and the team at Coppertino Software are the creators of our favorite Mac OS X/iOS media player. They provided us with great feedback on our Hi-Res products early on and we are excited to work with them to integrate their cloud platform with our Seiun Pro & Pro X.

 We know it isn’t normal to thank your suppliers, however they have been beyond amazing helping us make this project a reality. They recognized the opportunity our vision presented and worked with us to make sure our dream could come to life.

Our Project Leader, Thomas Chen has been a leader in the tech market for the past 30 years. 
Most of you have used products he had a direct hand in developing without even knowing it. 

He has a full range of experience working with all the industries that this line will cross over. From Computers and Data Storage to Communication and Consumer A/V. 

Cyberdrive was founded 2 years ago in San Diego with the goal of combining all his previous experience to develop truly revolutionary products. So we are confident that we have the capabilities to push the Audio industry into improving its quality standards for all. 

Technology is the reason why we keep progressing forward. Because of technology we have the ability to provide people with a greater sense of enjoyment in life. Over the last 40 years we've seen Computer Technology make people's lives easier and more convenient. We've seen Communications Technology break the barriers of time and space by connecting people on opposite ends of the earth. We've witnessed Storage Technology grow infinitely while shrinking in size and cost. We've experienced Video Technology pack an infinite amount of pixels into displays to recreate images with previously unimaginable clarity. But Audio Technology has been lagging. Even though music is a huge part of all of our lives, only those who are willing to spend ridiculous amounts of money have been fortunate enough to comprehend what is truly possible. However, the time is coming for this to change. That is why we are here, because we want everyone to truly enjoy music like they never thought possible (without forcing you to go beyond your budget). We learned from our 1st Kickstarter Campaign, this community is about more than just providing us with monetary backing. 

We truly value your opinions and suggestions on our products (even if they are harsh) because it helps us deliver a better end product. We can’t wait to hear what you have to say about the new Seiun Line. With your blessing we intend to do great things.

Thank you all for your support and more importantly providing us you’re your honest opinion and encouragement. It means the world to our team. I want to provide some honest insight into our though process.

#1. First of all, our number one goal is to deliver a QUALITY product ON TIME. With out you we would not be here. Some of our contributors are still concerned about this.

#2. We are 100% certain that we can accomplish this project without any problems. My team and I have been working with High-Tech innovation for the last 30 to 40 years. We definitely have the experience to pull off a project of this scope. I understand that some backers are skeptical about the monstrous specs we have for SEIUN Pro and PRO X, however we developed them based on our knowledge and previous experience. Now, we are looking to improve our products so they out-perform the rest of the industry. We have an excellent sense of design, albeit we can always put in more effort to find better components to make our product world-class.

#3. The prices we proposed with this crowdfunding campaign are almost unbelievable – they are that competitive. Our team has a clear principle: We want to make Hi-Res Music affordable and easily accessible for everyone. We want to use technology to enrich people’s life and we believe everyone should have the right to enjoy it. Therefore, we are not asking our backers to outrageous prices for our products.

#4. Many of our contemporaries ask consumers to pay 3 times or 5 times more in order to get a product that has lower specs than ours. We believe you are able to identify a quality product based on its performance – not just paying extraordinary prices for a brand name. We are building a long term business; our contributors are helping us do this. Even after the campaign I am sure we will have reasonably priced products as we grow our Hi-Res Audio Ecosystem.

#5. So far, all the orders will ensure we complete the production for all contributors on time. To take a step further in the future, we are developing enhancements like a media docking station, which is an important for the future of our SEIUN Pro and PRO X. We don’t just want to use the SEIUN Pro and PRO X as mobile media players, but rather we want them play the integral role in our future home media players (Audio and Video), cloud service and home server.  In order to put these theories into actions, we will need additional support from the campaign.

#6. Our backers have asked us to add a pair of quality earbuds to go with SEIUN/SEIUN Pro and Pro X to maximize their Seiun experience. We have heard your requests and thus we decided to create the IMPACT DURA Add-on Perk. We apologize that we cannot offer free earphones to all backers because of our limited budget. The best deal we can offer right now is $10 for a pair of IMPACT DURA, as price is sponsored by our manufacturing partner. This low price for our – JAS approved – Hi-Res IMPACT DURA, In-Ear Monitors is only available during the campaign. There are no additional shipping fees if you contribute during the campaign, unless you go overboard and buy too much (ex. 100 pairs which cost shipping fee to be ridiculous).

#7. We also received a lot of request to increase the Storage capacity for SEIUN Pro and PRO X, since they will be running with Hi-Quality audio and video. We have intensively studied this quandary during our development phase and came up with the following solution. Since it does not make sense to display 4k UHD resolution video on a mobile screen, we suggest users to acquire our Media docking (presented in our STRETCH GOALS) for the 4K videos to be displayed on TV. You can easily calculate the cost of a flash module with a 2TB or 4TB HDD, which will increase the cost of SEIUN for everyone. For your convenience, we are considering the possibility of increasing internal memory as an ADD-ON PERK for backers who are interested. However, we have decided that we will not be setting it as a default feature since the price for all consumers will go up.

#8. A lot of you have expressed interest in learning about our future plans and technology. SEIUN Pro and Pro X will be a part of the Ecosystem products. If we receive more contribution from our BACKERS to make campaign even more successful, than we’ll be able to develop the items in our stretch goal much faster. We plan to provide a MEDIA DOCKING STATION to extend the use of SEIUN to Home Theater environments and to increase audio and video Storage Capacities. We plan to provide the OFFICE DOCKING STATION with will turn the Seiun Players into an Internet Phonethat enable the  SEIUN Pro & Pro X to be used in HOME/OFFICE environments to reduce your phone cost while extending the functions of quality audio and video to your desktop setups. We plan to create a HOME AUDIO AMP to improve your home audio quality, from a 5.1 or 7.1 sound amplifier system. There are many more things we can accomplish in the future with your support.

After all, SEIUN Pro and Pro X is not just a single device; It is the beginning of a full featured ecosystem. We are certain that you will never regret backing this campaign (or even backing multiple Pro and Pro X products).
