We started out poor, but we were free.

So that made us wealthy, but we sought other things.

Gradually our freedoms were traded away, for security and power, but they didn't stay.

So now we were wealthy, but no longer free, no longer secure, and very weak.

So that will make us poor, but as you can see, we will be poor agin, but no longer free.
