Don't take it too seriously, it was a joke from a stereotype I have heard many times. The general ideia I have heard in the scientific field is that US contracts a lot of foreigners scientists to their Universities and Institutes, mostly seduced by the funding oportunities they find there. This is just an example. I also see many non-british scientists in the UK Universities and Institutes. Both of these countries don't care were you come from, they just care you are good, which is why they are at the top of the scientific field.

Also because their main language is the international scientific langage and the income of their country is high ;)

While I agree that America has a lot a very talented individuals, culture is not the best example. The culture you are talking about is very subjective. It is mainly achieved through money, power and politics. If people loves Hollywood blockbusters for example, it is not because they are way better than any other movies of other countries but because people are used to it, a lot of money is invested in recruiting international actors and doing advertisement and so on... And for the software and hardware, how many people from other countries are working in tech in Silicon valley? Probably more than in most other places in the world.

American main strengh is in developping a good image of themselves, having and using a lot of money to attract international talent and sell their products

Dont forget that eu is more progressive and accepting of gamers allowing for a better fostering of talent. Na is still held back by the stigma of "nerd gamers" due to alot of conservative thinking imo ex tsn and espn fans ripping on pro gaming. Korea's environment has fostered numerous talents as an example of how the culture can help create talented rookies. Eu is definitely getting there. Na may have talent here and there but Eu will only eclipse them with more talented players from here if their mindset doesnt change.

Nice edit, typical overly sensitive American.

Historically in most fields America has imported.

Science probably being the biggest one.

In EU if you grade top of your University (good universities obviously) it's really not that uncommon to get propositions from North American companies.

Well, to be honest, 99% of Americans are "imported".

I think it is a good point.

Europe doesn't have this culture of immigration and see migrants mainly as a burden. And because of their former colonialism many migrants coming in Europe are coming poor and without high qualifications. America seems (and probably is) more attractive for high qualification migrants and has a culture of wherever you are coming from if you are hard working and talented you will be successful that is working good for them.

    True.

But it is inreibly ignorant to say that Americans never imported the top of a lot of their fields such as Science.

    Green card, all that...

But well, this is reddit. If you say America/EU the former or the latter will just be salty and refuse to acknowledge someone can be unbiased.

I agree with you. The USA has always imported the best scientist they could from other countries, either with money or political stability, and it breaded their own talent.

That is why many of those famous American scientist are, actually "XXXXXXXX - American scientist", because they were born and raised somewhere and then they went to the USA for their research.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is fantastic and I wish other countries could afford it. I don't get the "national pride" thing.

Look at it, and realize that America runs the world

They do, thanks to the money they invest in everything. American exodus of experts has always been a thing.

Don't feed the troll guys! Just downvote and move on. In case he is going to state he isn't trolling and what not, the only other real explanation I have available here is that he is on the very famous Mexican meth they have over there.

Well america is behind in education compare to most developed country but they have great schools (I mean bad school for teens and child, but then you have MiT etc...) and many people actually come to america to pursue their career, also it seems easier to create something in america than in france for exemple (they don't want to change things to much here). (It might all be wrong but that's what I think from what I've seen and heard)

Obviously there will always be highly talented individuals in any country in lots of fields.

My favorite artists easily comes from England tho :p
