The Rogers Class 40 was designed as a powerful reaching boat for the Route de Rhum and Transat Jacque Vabre. The majority of these races are off the wind and the whole set up has been orientated for this. In addition, the sail plan has been set up with additional sail area to keep it competitive upwind in light airs. The deck layout is very much optimised for single or double handed sailing and is ideal for distance ocean racing. The central winch makes manoeuvres very much easier and keeps the crew well protected in the cockpit. Construction is a major consideration in order to produce a strong yacht, the standard boat is female moulded, epoxy/foam/e-glass and fully optimised to the then Class 40 rule. Swish was the second of 3 successful Simon Rogers designed Class 40's this boat was 2nd in the 2011 Transat Jacque Varbre. It is also broke the Round Britain Record for an under 40' boat in the 2014 RORC Sevenstars Round Britain Race. The boat has always been maintained to the highest standard, and benefits from a new Axxon mast, many new sails and a 2015 topside respray.
