Rand Paul Thinks Federal Reserve Is ‘Sexy Issue’ for 2016 Election

AUDIO

rand paulKentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul happens to think that, despite claims to the contrary, discussing the Federal Reserve is a very sexy thing to do in the 2016 presidential election.

The GOP presidential hopeful expressed this belief to radio host Jan Mickelson of Iowa’s WHO 1040 on Thursday, when the two were discussing conservative columnist and Fox News pundit Charles Krauthammer‘s comments otherwise.

“There are those of us on the Republican side who have seen government distributing income and allowing the rich to get richer and the middle class to have their wages stolen from them,” said Paul. “That comes from the Federal Reserve. And you’d be surprised, that it’s a little more of a sexy issue than Charles understands.”

When asked why Krauthammer thought financial discussions in the current presidential election cycle weren’t all that sexy, Paul suggested the pundit come to “some of our rallies.”

“You’d be surprised. I get people from all walks of life, including guys who are welders and electricians, who show up and are unhappy that the Fed is stealing the value of their dollar, that the Fed seems to be making income inequality worse.”

No word yet on whether or not Paul will be “making a deposit” anytime soon.
