It's not bad, you just get what you pay for. American's don't believe in a free ticket for everyone. We're not communists. People have equal rights, not equal opportunity or ability or what have you.
You can get the care you need, but unless you can afford get insurance, expect to pay a lot

State sponsored health care =/= communism

Fair enough. But it does move towards a socialist state (not necessarily a bad thing). And just as the US system for health care has its draw backs, so does the universal system.

It's inline with it and very socialistic

Oh no, god forbid if health care was affordable without much money. How communist of the EU.

Socialism is the future, its better overall for everyone, just look to the Scandinavian countries.

Pretty absurd to look at all the failures in the american health care system and to still think it's the best way to go.

You never really learned about how stuff works outside the US, did you? Europe's got a large fan of different politics with a very tiny portion of them actually socialist (pretty much none of them communists). You see the conservative parties over here speak for state sponsored health care quite often

No, its called mixed market.

It's not actually state sponsored in germany, technically. It's based on mandatory insurance policy, with independent insurance companies running the middleman. There's much to improve with the system, but it's not run by the state at least. I appreciate that.

It's called the free market, not communism. Healthcare is mostly organized through independent insurance companies in germany.
Now in the US, everything's expensive when it comes to health, because people don't need pre-emptive medical attention, as you said, even though it comes out cheaper overall. So you get this system in the US where somebody is stuck with an overpriced bill because there's not much of an organization behind ensuring costs are cut via insurance sponsored health checks.
Plus, insurance company oligarchy. If you want even more free market than the socialist style health insurance system in germany, look at poland or mexico prices for healthcare. These are even cheaper. The US is just the land of anti competitive practices.

I'm Vietnamese, I can confirm that healthcare in Vietnam is way worse an US. If you don't have enough money, the doctors watch you die

You can get the care you need, unless you cant afford it. FTFY
[–]IamAMidLaner [スコア非表示] 11分前 (0子コメント)
Exactly, no one is entitled to anything. That being said, the big pharma corporatist nightmare the last three presidents endorsed has skyrocketed prices beyond belief, way worse than what they used to be under more free market systems. Ron Paul's a good person to look to for experience in old style US healthcare, he was a doctor back then anyways.
