With Enduranote you can schedule personal messages to send up to 100 years in the future, on dates of your choosing. Enduranote lets you create and associate video, audio and other content to go with your messages, and even design your own multimedia obituary. You can also create special pages for full screen display at future weddings, graduations, or other special days you know you might miss.
How do recipients get messages?
There are two ways to set the delivery of your messages. You can schedule some messages to send on specific dates whether or not you’ve passed, while having other messages send only after the entry of a trigger code (i.e., after you’ve passed). Enduranote lets you invite recipients to register now, so they can start receiving messages now, but Enduranote will also generate trigger codes for all of your recipients, so you can choose to give codes to recipients to enter later. Whether you invite them to register now (to receive messages while you are alive), have them register using trigger codes later, or use a combination of both methods, all recipients register free and maintain their own contact information.
How do I know recipients will get their messages?
To start with, recipients enter and maintain their own information. Other products using specific social media platforms, or requiring senders to enter recipient contact information, have no way of knowing whether that information or media platform will be in use 10, 20 or 30 years from now, or whether your recipient will even be reachable with the information provided. The security, privacy, and simplicity of Enduranote features are enhanced by involving recipients in registering their own unique portals, where they update their profile and set their own preferences. As future technology creates new formats, Enduranote will convert your content and messages to any common format of a recipient’s choosing.
How are messages scheduled for delivery?
Messages you want delivered whether or not you’ve passed can be sent to any registered recipients, without entry of any additional trigger codes. To invite recipients, simply add their email address and Enduranote will invite them to register free (they can always change their email address later). For messages you want sent only after you have passed, you can schedule those messages to send only after your accounts triggers. For those messages you select a month and day, such as a birthday, anniversary, or a holiday, and set the message for delivery on that day anywhere from 1 to 100 years after your delivery schedule is initiated by any recipient entering a trigger code. You can also have messages send immediately upon our account triggering. We put you in control of how and when your loved ones will see your message, video, or other content... that’s the whole point of Enduranote.
Can I stop the delivery of scheduled messages?
Yes. You are notified when a recipient enters a trigger code, and given a period of time to securely override the release of triggered messages. After that period has lapsed, your account is locked and the schedule is initiated. Even then, however, you can still use a special security code to override your account and stop delivery of those delayed messages.
What happens after delivery of a message?
Once delivered, your recipient can continue to log-in and view their messages and content on an Enduranote portal designed just for them. Recipients can also view a history of prior messages sent to them, in case the delivery schedule began before they logged in, or if they just want to view them again. Enduranote will advise recipients if future messages are still waiting to be sent, and ask them to keep contact information updated and ready to receive your next scheduled message or email.
The scheduled text message is the idea that started Enduranote! Imagine receiving a surprise text message from a deceased friend wishing you a happy birthday. Think about what it would be like to get a Father's Day note from your Dad who passed away 5 years ago, telling you how proud he is of you on this special day. Those kind of messages would be something you’d look forward to every year! That is exactly the kind of digital legacy you can give your loved ones using Enduranote's scheduled messaging tool.
How do I schedule a text?
You can schedule delivery of a text message to deliver on a specific date, or for anywhere from 1 to 100 years after your account is triggered, which occurs when any recipient enters a trigger code without your override. The text message will show that the message is from you, and is sent along with a link they can follow back to their Enduranote recipient portal for viewing of past messages and other content. There are three easy steps to schedule a text:
1) Select a recipient.
You can add a new recipient or choose a previously added recipient. You can also select multiple recipients, or any number of recipients you previously sorted into a group.
2) Write your message.
Wish a happy birthday, share a holiday wish, or recall a memory from times past. If you are at a loss for words, the Enduranote Idea Library has suggestions for messages to sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, siblings, and even friends.
3) Schedule your message.
For messages you want delivered to registered recipients whether or not you’ve passed, simply enter the date. For messages you want delayed until your account is triggered (i.e., after you pass), choose the date such as an anniversary, birthday, or holiday, and then select a waiting period. The waiting period will start when the first recipient enters a trigger code without your override. You also have the option for a message to send immediately once any recipient triggers your account for the first time.
The scheduled email can be longer, and you can add new or existing video, audio, or other content. We provide easy to use webcam software within our hosted application so you can create your own videos or audio messages from anywhere, anytime. You can also easily upload your own existing content. Your scheduled email will be sent on the day or date of your choosing, along with a link taking the recipient to their private Enduranote portal to view or listen to associated content and past messages.
If you have ever been responsible for drafting a loved one's obituary, you know how difficult it can be to sum up a life with just a few words and a single picture. Our self-authored obituary pages give you the opportunity to leave a video message, create a slideshow, add music, and of course write the words you want to use to say goodbye to your friends and family. With Enduranote, these aren't really your last words...but you can use an obituary page to announce the legacy you created using Enduranote, and get your loved ones excited about receiving future private messages for years to come!
Why have an obituary page?
This is your opportunity to say goodbye, in your own words. With a built-in full screen mode, these pages might be displayed at memorial gatherings, or simply sent as links for viewing on the web.
Who can view an obituary page?
You select the level of privacy you would like on your obituary page. You can set your page to private, making it viewable only by those recipients with permission. Alternatively, you can set it to public, making it viewable by anyone with the link. Finally, you can even make your page searchable on the web, so that anyone who looks for you will find it, allowing you to say goodbye years into the future.
Can I have more than one obituary page?
Yes. We recognize the need to say a final goodbye in a special or unique way to different groups of people. You might have an obituary page for your friends from college, another one for coworkers at the office, and yet still set another page for a private viewing by your closest family and friends.
Your daughter's wedding, your son's high school graduation, your parents' 50th anniversary…there are so many special future days in the lives of family and friends that you want to be there for. That’s why Enduranote provides customized Life Event pages. Create a video, compile a slideshow, write a message, and even select music to play at any future event. Raise a toast, offer congratulations, give the advice you wish you could provide in-person, or just wish them the best. With Enduranote, you can tell them what you would have said if you could’ve been there.
But how do you schedule a Life Event that hasn't happened yet?
After you create a Life Event page, you assign which recipients can view the page just as you do for a private obituary page. However, with a Life Event page, you also choose which of those recipients can "activate" the page for other recipients to view in the future. When those recipients login after you are gone, they will see that there are special days on which you want these unique Life Event pages activated for viewing. Those selected recipients are the Life Event managers, and you can set as many or as few as you want. They should, of course, be people who will find out about the event in question when it eventually occurs – people who would be invited to the wedding, graduation, and so on.
How is the Life Event page viewed?
Once activated, a Life Event page becomes viewable by the recipients you have assigned it to. Like an obituary, it can also be displayed in full screen mode, allowing for display at large gatherings.

Can a recipient also create their own Enduranote messages and content for future delivery?
First, add a few recipients. All you need is a name (or nickname).
Next, schedule a few text messages. Think about what you might want to tell people in the future, on their birthdays, anniversaries, or on holidays
Then schedule an email or two With emails, you can send longer notes to recipients, and attach pictures, video, audio and documents.
Create an obituary. Start by deciding the level of privacy you desire (see further below regarding obituaries), select the recipients you want to get this particular obituary, and associate the content you want to go along with it, just as you do with emails.
Create a life event. Start by selecting recipients, but also designate which recipients will act be the “activators” for this life event. Since you don’t know when an event will occur, you should pick activators based on who will be likely to know when it does. You can pick more than one activator. See further below on life events.
You do not need a webcam. You can add existing videos from your computer or drive. You can also create videos directly on Enduranote if you have a webcam, using our browser integrated software, or even your smart phone.
When you add a recipient Enduranote will only generate the recipient’s unique redemption code. You are responsible for safeguarding recipient codes and deciding how they are later given to recipients. Enduranote creates a PDF for you to print or save for later, custom formatted with each recipient’s name, code, and providing step-by-step instructions for later redemption.
You never add any recipient contact information. Your recipients will add and maintain their own contact information once they later redeem their codes.
Yes! You can add a recipient with a nickname or other identifying title so they can be identified in the future. Again, they will enter their own contact information to receive messages you intended for them.
Enduranote uses waiting periods for specific days or holidays, rather than specifying actual dates, because (usually) you will not know precisely when recipients will redeem their codes. Schedule messages for special days, like anniversaries or birthdays, or even holidays, and then select the number of years that should pass before the message is delivered. You can also have messages send immediately upon code redemption.
Nothing on your Enduranote account will be visible to recipients, and your account will not begin to calculate the scheduling of messages, until the first redemption of a recipient code. At that point, the waiting periods you set will start to run and messages will start to send. As a safeguard, you will be notified the first time a recipient redeems a code, and a “buffer period” will give you time to override a premature code entry.
Enduranote will not begin scheduling or delivering messages until after your recipients have redeemed the codes you gave them. Even then, you are still given a chance to override the premature redemption of codes at any time during your plan term.
It is your responsibility to decide the method for distribution of redemption codes. We will give you letters addressed to your recipients that are designed to make it easy to print and give to an executor, lawyer, or trustee for later distribution. Since the letters we create for you are in PDF format, they can also be saved digitally and emailed…you have many options.
Simply log-in and delete recipients you want to remove, or delete specific emails, messages, life events, or obituaries you no longer wish to send. Nothing will be scheduled to send until a recipient redeems their code. Even then, you can override their code redemption, reset your account, and delete recipients who may have already redeemed previously so they cannot enter the same code again.
Messages will schedule for delivery and your account will lock down after the buffer period - but you can still enter your account and override redemption by answering the special security question you choose during sign-up. Doing this will refresh the message waiting period schedule for future deliveries, and return your account to its previously unscheduled state.
We are not a free service or app - we are a real business committed to providing a legitimate, trustworthy communications product for you and your loved ones. Enduranote’s annual plans are designed and priced to provide an entire plan term of data storage, bandwidth, and technical support to facilitate the sending of messages. More importantly, we care deeply about the emotional connections you are creating with future recipients – it’s why we do what we do (see our story). Quite simply, once you have decided to do something special for your family and friends, we want to help you with that.
Sign-up provides you with the specified number of messages, plan term and delivery storage, and each renewal provides another plan year of access to your account, and a new 20, 50 or 100 year plan term for the future scheduled delivery of messages. It is important to note that every time you renew, your account rolls over for a whole new plan term, and gives you one more full year of access to your account to add content or make changes.
Then your account will never activate and messages will not be sent. When your credit card on-file expires, your plan term will begin and messages will start to calculate (but not deliver) based on the last date of your previous paid plan year. If recipients later redeem codes, messages that would have been delivered will be waiting for them at that time, and further scheduling will continue to the last date of the paid plan term.
Recipients can enter their codes at any time during your plan term and view any previous messages that are waiting for them. For example, suppose there is a 20 year term that began when the first recipient entered a redemption code. Any recipients who enter their codes 5, 10 or even 19 years later, will be able to view messages that calculated for delivery during the plan term, and that would have been “delivered” to them earlier had they redeemed their codes. As long as the recipient redeems during the plan term, they can see past messages that would have been delivered.
Enduranote cares about your privacy and security – please visit our Privacy & Security page to learn more about the steps we take to safeguard your account and content.
Due to privacy and security precautions requiring sendings user to customize a security override question, we recommend you do accomplish this by emailing us at info@enduranote.com. We can issue a prepaid voucher that you may use as a gift that will allow the sending user to sign-up for his or her own account. Meanwhile, we are working on an a gift card that will soon be available on our website!
The life event page allows you to create a page with text, video, pictures, audio, and even documents that can be viewed later when activated. You decide which recipients will most likely know when an event is going to happen ,and designate these people activating recipients who can unlock the life event when it occurs. Keep in mind, there is no buffer period applied to a life event, meaning a life event is immediately available to selected recipients if they have redeemed their codes. This is because we want to ensure a life event page can be viewed without hindrance at an event when it occurs. Although life events can be viewable in full screen mode, they are not viewable publicly from a hyperlink - for security, a life event recipient must be logged in to view the event page, either in the recipient portal, or in a full screen display.
Obituary pages give Enduranote users the ability to say goodbye to different groups of people in unique ways. They become available upon code redemption, after the buffer period has passed. . You can create a farewell message just for your friends from work, another for your close family, and something else to see just for your college buddies. You can set the privacy level of your obituary pages as private, meaning viewable only by recipients you designate while they are logged-in; or as public, meaning viewable by anyone with the link provided to recipients of the obituary. You can also make public obituaries searchable, so people can find it by searching for your name on the internet. Obituary messages become available for viewing after the first successful redemption of a recipient code.
If you are the first recipient to redeem a code for this sending user, you will be notified that a buffer period has begun. This brief period will last anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. If you are not the first recipient to redeem a code, there may be no buffer period at all.
Once the buffer period has ended, you will start to see delivered messages, calculated for delivery based on the sending user’s instructions. Some messages may have been scheduled to be delivered immediately upon code redemption – you will see these in your portal right away. Messages scheduled for future delivery will not appear in your portal until the calculated delivery dates have passed, and by then you will have received the messages via email or text.
Life events may appear immediately, even during the buffer period. Life events will be delivered into your portal, and you will be notified via email of their delivery, immediately upon activation by any one of recipients designated by the sending user as a life event manager.
Obituaries will appear in the recipient portal once the buffer period has passed. By default, obituaries are scheduled for delivery immediately upon code redemption – but just like messages, they require a buffer period which begins when the first recipient redeems his or her code.
When you log into the recipient portal you will always see an advisement notifying you of whether you have messages scheduled for future delivery or not. Make sure to keep your contact information updated at all times, and check your spam or junk mail if necessary.
No – redemption of recipient codes and registration of recipient accounts is always free. There is no additional charge for receipt of text messages. Whatever your regular text message rates are will still apply between you and your mobile carrier. It is also free for recipients to access recipient portals, where they can view and download messages and content free for 90 days from message delivery. Optional archival plans are available should recipients desire to keep messages stored at Enduranote.
Simply log into your recipient portal and update your profile. This is also where you can manage notification preferences.
You can change notification settings at any time in the profile section of your recipient portal. We understand there may be times when you choose not to receive emails or text messages. If you turn off message notifications, however, make sure to log back into your recipient portal every 2 or 3 weeks in order to see any messages that came available for delivery during this time. Messages must be archived within 90 days of delivery, or they will no longer be viewable in your account.
There is no charge to copy or download any of the content associated with your messages from the recipient portal during the 90 day viewing period. After that time has passed, you may purchase an archive plan to continue storing content and messages in your Enduranote recipient portal.
Yes, but only if the sending user specified that this was OK. When a sending user creates an obituary, he or she designates the level of privacy they want it to have. If they designated it as a public obituary, then the link will work for anyone to view. If they designated it as private, then only those recipients selected by the sending user to receive that obituary will be able to view it, and even then, only when logged into their Enduranote accounts.
No. Life events can only be viewed by those recipients select by the sending user to receive those messages. Also, to view a life event, you must be logged into your Enduranote account. If you are planning on sharing a life event via full screen display, you will need to log into your account from the computer being used at the event.
Only those recipients selected by the sending user to do so. A sending user may have chosen several recipients to receive a life event, but only one or two to manage its activation. Enduranote cannot unlock a life event under any circumstances unless a recipient, so chosen by the sending user to have that authority, has activated it. At that point, it will be viewable in recipient accounts for 30 days, unless archived for longer.
Yes! Enduranote allows recipients to redeem an unlimited number of recipient codes using one Enduranote account. Messages from various sending users will be available to view in a single recipient portal, and you can even seamlessly toggle between messages from various senders. However, you cannot redeem multiple codes from the same sending user using a single Enduranote account - in order to redeem additional codes from the same sending user, you will need to create an additional Enduranote account using a new email address.
Yes! Simply log-in and purchase an Enduranote plan. Recipients can create and schedule their own Enduranote messages and content using the same log-in created when you first redeemed your recipient code. When you log-in as a user who has both redeemed recipient codes and signed up for an Enduranote plan, you will be able to toggle your view between your sending user portal, and your recipient user portal.
