Yoshitoshi ABe
Yoshitoshi received his Master of Fine Arts in Japanese Painting from Tokyo University of the Arts. Yoshitoshi is active in many fields, nationally acclaimed as an illustrator, character designer, mangaka, and more. He was an entrant in the 1994 Kodansha Afternoon Shikisho Awards. He is known for the original character design of “serial experiments lain”; the original work, character design, and manga for “NieA_7”; the original work, script, and character design for “Haibane Renmei”; the original character design of “Texhnolyze”; the illustrations of novels “All You Need is Kill,” “Negative Happy Chain Saw Edge,” and “Fenomeno”; the artbook “An omnipresence in wired ‘lain’” (Sony Magazines); the new versions of “yoshitoshi ABe lain illustrations” and “Gaisokyu” (Wanimagazine); the manga “NieA_7”, “Kaira”, and “Ryushika Ryushika”; and many more.
