for the anon that asked what is an example of cultural exchange, I think words that are similar between different languages and have the same meaning might be cultural exchange? Like for example, library is 図書館 (としょかん) in Japanese, 图书馆 (tú shū guǎn) in Mandarin, and 도서관 in Korean, and they're pronounced somewhat similarly--I remember these two Chinese guys in a Korean class (taught by a Korean native) were surprised at some of the similarities between their language (Mandarin) and Korean.
