Thank you!!! You understand the actual issue. I feel like I am alone.

I know WHY they did this... But its not acceptable to me.

Did you come here for legal advice, or for people to agree with you? It's obviously its the latter, so this really isn't your kind of subreddit.

No one has really given legal advice but rather their opinion.

Usually saying "this is legal" by a legal professional is accompanied by either a statute of some sort or case precedent that they have read and remember.

Instead I'm getting responses by people telling me this is a common practice in nightclubs, which I know... But I feel like a ticketed event is different than denial at the door.

Also there are laws that govern businesses that are open to the public. When you apply for and receive a business license for your business you agree to adhere to these regulations.

I'm not looking for anyone to agree with me but I am looking for positive discussion on the matter.

Don't patronize them. Get the word out. Make a stink. I agree, the policy makes sense from the club owners' standpoint, but it seems way out of line with larger EDM acts like this. The policy is troubling, but it is a little easier to swallow if it was a normal night with their regular club DJ. Plenty of people will want to see A&B, Hardwell, and Kaskade for the music, and won't care or notice if the gender mix is skewed one way or another. (This is also discriminatory against hetero couples.)

Greed, and not understanding the EDM scene are probably partly to blame here. I'd like to think this is a self-correcting problem in the end...

Thank you for the thoughtful response. I was starting to feel very alone about this.

I did tweet to A&B and their management is looking into it. I just think awareness is important.

The EDM scene is a huge part of my life, and like you mentioned, I don't think this is representative of what that community is.
