SIPRI has an awesome database of known arms transfers between states, it'll send you a word doc with all the info

just finished "over the edge" which is a book about Grand Canyon deaths (bought it on my visit there, apparently it their bookstores best seller).

pretty good read actually, interesting, decent historical research for such a piece, and some cool historical information. plus it's a fascinating topic, and written by those who were Rangers or GC rescuers. the only real issues is his clear bias against Mormons, and the occasional need to romantazize the historical narratives.

Are Mormons notorious for falling into the Grand Canyon? Did the Mormons swing by on their migration west and contemplate a settlement? I need to know the Mormon connection!

The first chapter of T. Rex and the Crater of Doom is probably the most apocalyptic thing I've ever read. Also, in the rest of the book, academic controversy, much of which transcends into straight up drama. Lots of drama about the K-T extinction referenced here and by William Glen in Mass Extinction Debates. Reminds me of the debates about and, backlash against, continental drift after the 1930s. I'm not sure if something about geology makes it more inclined to drama, or if I'm just not well read enough in other fields to see it. I would guess the latter, but either way it reminds me how human scientists are.
