I've never known anybody to be repulsed by cargo pants. They may correlate with otherwise repellent people, but the pants themselves? Nah...

cargo pants aren't bad, but they are typically part of this outfit

they're not the best tho, in terms of looks, there are a lot of other pants you could wear that are way better

Can confirm, I had this outfit in junior high and had the cargo shorts to match. No ponytail though, I was more of an "unfortunate hair gel" type of guy

I'm quite glad there aren't many pictures of that part of my life

i think cargo pants would work if you had a very slim-fitting tee to go with it

cause cargo pants are very big, so you wouldn't just look like a big lump if you used the proportions right

Any flat-front pants (no pleats and stuff) that have a reasonable inseam (above the knee is preferred) that you can pick up at any store in the mall.

Gym shorts , kacki shorts, swim shorts, jorts, plaid shorts, pastel shorts... All but two of there are better.

my opinion is that pants are more or less always better than shorts. maybe that's just cause i hate my pasty white hairy calves and thighs

but if i could recommend shorts, they'd just be like a short version of whatever sort of pants would also go well with the shirt. i think shorts have a bit more lee-way with being able to get away with being more brightly and vividly colored - like, saturated blue pants would look a bit odd, but the same blue shorts would go well will a brighter colored but pale tee.

but i'm not a fashion expert, i'm just basing all that on what i think looks good.

my overall opinion is to just wear pants. that's what i do.

they're so useful. i can put so many items, from a single MTG deck in a water proof case, gameboy color - pikachu yellow, or my google nexus with pokedex phone cover. the possibilities are endless!

Cargo pants are reddit's "fedora" of 2015. Something to hate on because some other reddit comment do it so you may be supposed to as well.
