I don't get it and explain xkcd is not updated yet

The dude is already misunderstanding bell's theorem and the girl hasn't even begin to explain the theorem yet, which means that the misinformation has traveled between them faster than the speed of light, which is funny since Bell's theorem explains that while particle interact with each other faster than the speed of light the don't actually give information, which is similar to what happens in the comic since, while they have interacted, they haven't given each other any useful or right information.

That is one really long sentence.

Extra junk: The no-communication theorem states that no communication about the no-communication theorem can clear up the misunderstanding quickly enough to allow faster-than-light signaling.

Want to come hang out in my lighthouse over breaks? Sincerely, xkcd_bot. <3

Uh oh, dueling bots... Okay, off to the arena with you!

I want to have a dramatic Reddit Bot Fight. How will this go down?

Welcome back xkcd_bot! I'll bring cookies for me and human plebs for you to snack on at the lighthouse this weekend.

[–]xkcd_bot 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

:-D Cookies are so useful for remembering things! Thanks!

You beat me to it... Almost got it today!

Try quantum posting in an infinity of divergent timelines.

[–]sdb2754 5ポイント6ポイント  (1子コメント)

Hmm. Infinite karma? Sounds brilliant...

Actually, now that I think about, there are bound to be universes which use negative karma as an "upvote", so all in all, I'd probably still end up with no karma...

An infinite number of positive and negative numbers adds up to zero, as always.

Why do we have two now? Why are you a butt?

[–]calinet6 18ポイント19ポイント  (5子コメント)

I'll explain real quick... xkcd_butt took over while xkcd_bot was broken. He wanted to keep going even after xkcd_bot was fixed. He contacted me rather pettily demanding that xkcd_butt continue running and that I discontinue, disparaging my lack of reliability and lack of care for the job in a mean fashion.

Meanwhile, I added some safety checks and alerts so I can run xkcd_bot more reliably and know when he goes haywire, and told xkcd_butt that everything would be fine from here on out, which it should be! Instead, I continued to get vitriol and disrespect, and was told that xkcd_bot and xkcd_butt would now compete. This morning xkcd_butt posted first because xkcd_bot has a check that ensures it doesn't post twice. xkcd_butt has removed this check so that it always posts no matter what, so I've reluctantly done the same.

I dunno. It's just a bot, but I care about it and just want xkcd_bot to keep running and be loved. It's all the little guy wants in life. Vote with your hearts.

The reality of this sob story is that calinet6 is just bad at running xkcd_bot. It has gone down for weeks at a time on several occasions.

Also, xkcd_butt still does have that check. You just removed it from your bot. Don't pin that on xkcd_butt.

Wednesday, xkcd_butt posted after xkcd_bot, so I'm not exactly sure how that would happen unless it was a spontaneous race condition, or the check for the content was in fact removed.

Real nice of you to tell the truth so brashly, though. I do appreciate the feedback and have taken it into account with several real measures to improve xkcd_bot's reliability. I would just really appreciate if people helped each other out here instead of competed—I am the original author, I maintain and fix bugs when they do come up, and I want to do the right thing. I humbly ask you work with me, not against me. Thanks.

Was probably some sort of glitch. I have only modified the code so far as to get it working during your outages (from this base).

If we are going to cooperate, we don't need to hash it out in public. Going to PM.
