Bitcoin 内の nevremind によるリンク Wow, check out Bitcoin growth on LocalBitcoins Volume Charts

[–]realitycheck123456 -6ポイント-5ポイント  (0子コメント)

It's impressive because literally any other hard data in the bitcoin ecosystem indicates stagnation. Bitpay, Overstock, Wordpress, Mozilla, all point to bitcoin being used less and less. All point to towards a stagnate ecosystem. I can't think of any hard data outside of this that indicates bitcoin is growing in any way shape or form.

This news is good relative to bitcoins' past, paypal has nothing to do with it.

I used that as perspective. No matter how many charts you can show of growth, the fact is a medium sized company like Paypal does more volume in ONE DAY than localbitcoins has done in TWO YEARS. Many of those charts that show growth are doing literally only ten thousand a month of volume per month. It's microscopic compared to anything comparable.

That is anything but hyperbole,

It's absolutely hyperbole because the fact is mainstream adoption isn't happening in the slightest. If it was the price wouldn't be falling for 2 years. If it was, you wouldn't see bitcoin universally called a scam every time you leave the /r/bitcoin echo chamber. If it was you would not see traffic to nearly every single bitcoin website dropping month over month. Adoption is pretty much on par with the number of users exiting the ecosystem IMO as evidenced by USD transaction volume on the network.

On October 11th, some of realitycheck123456's reddit comments were compromised, resulting in a loss of less than 19,000 karma. Upon learning of the breach, we immediately notified all customers that they should no longer make responses to previously issued comment addresses. As an additional security measure, we suspended our systems while we fully investigate the incident and actively engage with law enforcement officials.

This breach represents a small fraction of realitycheck123456's total karma reserves, the overwhelming majority of which are held in secure offline cold storage systems. We would like to reassure all realitycheck123456 customers that their balances held prior to our temporary suspension of services will not be affected and will be honored in full.

This is a phase shift that is just beginning to open the gates to real mainstream bitcoin adoption.

That's just pure hyperbole, while localbitcoins data is impressive, the overall bitcoin transaction volume in USD has remained relatively flat for 2 years. So while they may be growing, there's little to indicate these results are mirrored throughout the ecosystem.

Those charts are also a little misleading as well, take Kenya for instance with what looks like a massive uptake in use. But if you actually convert the 2,000,000 Kenyan shillings in USD, that means only $19,000 was transacted there last month. So sure, month over month is improving but it's very easy to increase month over month when last month was near $0 to begin with. It's the same with all the bitcoin companies saying I just had 300% increase in Greece from last month when the reality is they were starting with near 0 so a 300% rise is not impressive. India is another example of this slight of hand with 5,000,000 Rupees transacting each month. Well that's only $77,000 in a country with over 1 billion people.

And again, while an improvement, even a medium sized company like Paypal does more transaction volume in a single day than localbitcoins has done over the last 2 years in every country. Just some perspective on those numbers....

Folks, despite purse.io's business model being based off of credit card fraud, and I am fully convinced they will restore their service shortly. Even though support says all balances are accounted for and even though all of their users are reporting their money missing and even though support is ignoring everyone who says they are missing money, I am 100% convinced that this is not an exit scam. Rather this is a problem with the traditional banking system who can not keep up with the thriving bitcoin economy that purse.io is on top of. After all, purse.io is a Roger Verified endeavor and everything he does is totally legit (aside from a felony or two, investing in money laundering schemes, doxxing - but really who HASN'T done any of that?). He's also part of the bitcoin Dream Team which means your coins are safe and sound protected by the laws of the universe.

Edit: confirmed withdrawal problems, site still down for users, no response from support in 10 hours. However, I'm sure this is a problem with the traditional communication network and not purse.io support.

And to top that off, those spikes did not move the price one bit. 50k bitcoin "traded" in a minute and it did not affect the price in the slightest. Yup, totally legit... 12.5 million dollars traded in a single minute and it did not increase the price. That's more than the "bearwhale" slaying in Oct 2014 by almost double. Just another day on a Chinese bucket shop.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Just last week Huobi saw record setting volume on a day of total stagnation when nothing was happening because like 50,000 bitcoin were traded in a minute. This happened back to back days and if you look at the 1-7 day chart they are having "record volume". More volume than any run up or drop down - during a period of which the bitcoin price is nearly frozen. Yea ok, totally legit. If you think Chinese volume isn't completely fake, you're lying to yourself or you are the most gullible person in the world.

And pretty much every single block explorer was broken that day including bci.

So like half of bitcoin services break down and all you guys can say is "this is fucking bullish" or "this is good for bitcoin" or "this is not a problem because spins wheel". How embarrassing that trolls know more about the crummy ecosystem than its very own users. Maybe you guys are right, maybe these truly aren't problems because nobody actually uses bitcoin. Touche. Right again bitcoiner, right again.

We have no evidence of bitcoin auction sale prices, the only claim I made was that every bid that was publicly revealed was under market price. Neither of those claims contradict each other. I don't see why this is such a hard concept for you to grasp. Maybe you should take a break from this sub and go buy some more cheap coins before Tyson ATMs, Cyprus NeoBee, GABI, Lighthouse, OpenBazaar, M-Pesa/Bit-pesa, Online Poker, Overstock, Expedia, Dish, Dell, TigerDirect, Newegg, Microsoft, PayPal, Bitcoin Bowl, Remittance services, Circle, Xapo, IBM, Internet of things, Fidor in the UK, Bitcoin ETN, Changetip/tipping in general, Africa, Coloured Coins, Sidechains, Smartcontracts, Wordpress, Mozilla, Greece, Switching to mBTC everywhere, Switching to bits everywhere, Bitlicense(2 more weeks), Sunlot, Wall st, $3 billion hedge fund trading at OKCoin, NY city parking fines/fees, Drugs, Porn, The unbanked, CNN Special with Morgan Sputnick, Meganet/Kim dotcom pimping, Lightning Network, China, Coinbase, SecondMarket, Pantera Capital, COIN ETF, MIT students, GBTC Coinbase again, 21inc the halving happens. Says anybody with a brain. Who looks at network vulnerabilities that cause users problems transacting across the network, and by core devs own words are unfixable and says "THIS IS FUCKING BULLISH, TOOOO THE MOOOOON!!!!" Future and current bag holders, that's who. And to top it off the vulnerability has been documented for well over a year, can be conducted for free, and with a quick script made in a few hours. Nice, I'm sure every bank is drooling over the bit-coin blockchain.

Yea yea, inb4 your lame response "I have no problems transacting". Let's skip that, and then my subsequent reply of dozens of threads on /r/bitcoin of people complaining about not receiving their money.

Why would someone pay a premium for coins when they could just purchase those coins OTC from a large mining cartel? Everytime we see bids for these auctioned coins they are always below market value, why do you think that is?

the halvening is looming.

Here we go. It's like malls in America slowly celebrating Christmas a couple weeks earlier every year. Christmas trees out in September this year, and now moon kids will be talking about their Holy Event for the next 365 days like its around the corner.

That is incorrect, my link is from the malleability attack. That is what you and /u/minimalniemand don't understand, the mempool is over a gig and there are 100,000 "transactions" pending because the malleability attack NOT the "stress test". Bitpay users and others are having trouble transacting because the same attack. This is completely unrelated to the spam test that Coinwallet.eu conducted. This test is free to conduct and according to Peter Todd unfixable.
