Such a huge talent.

I'm puzzled at how few comments there are about how...like...she should keep doing this with enough frequency to...shrink her talent.

She obviously does it all the time. Just illustrates that diet has as much to do with weight as exercise.

Weight gain/loss is almost 100% calories in vs calories out.

The widest range in metabolic efficiency is about 5-10%.

You can lose weight eating nothing but butter and ice cream, just eat less than like 2k calories of it per day.

You can gain weight on carrots, just eat like 3k+ calories of it per day.

Exercise's only role in weight loss is to increase the caloric expenditure for the day in addition to portion control.

You should exercise to be aerobically and anaerobically healthy, not to lose weight.

How many carrots is 3000 calories?

There are about 35 calories in one carrot. This means that it would take 86 carrots to reach 3,000 calories (35*86=3,010).

That is surprisingly less than I would've thought

Yeah I could probably eat 86 carrots in a day. I mean, I'd hate it, but I could do it.

I don't think they are talking about baby carrots here.

You'd blow your colon to the mother fucking moon with a diet of 86 carrots a day. To the moon, Jerry!

And this is why America is fat. No one has any clue what stuff costs calorically anymore.

[–]BLOODY_ANAL_VOMIT [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

Right, and back when people worked on farms or in factories and didn't make it past 8th grade they did? Let's not pretend like there was a "good ole days" back when people counted calories and weighed their food.

The problem is we industrialized processed foods, which made calories incredibly cheap and easy to get, and at the same time we started to work outside less so we needed less calories.

If you have a 3 oz portion of carrots, it's roughly 35 calories, so to hit 3000 calories in carrots is roughly 85 servings! Hopefully that answers your question :D

Thank you for subscribing to Carrot Facts.

Did you know that cultivated carrots are usually made up of about 88% water, 7% sugar, 1% protein, 1% fibre, 1% ash, and 0.2% fat?

Enough to allow you to see into the void of space, let alone just the dark

Approximately 100 carrots according to the label of the carrots in my fridge (30 calories per serving of 78g green giant fresh carrots). But your macro's would be all messed up with 0g of fat, 700g of carbs, and 70g of protein in a 3000 calorie diet. You'd probably be dealing with a carb version of rabbit starvation due to a lack of fat in your diet. Fat is a necessary macronutrient for brain health and many other things. Meeting your calorie requirement is the most important thing to survive, next is your fat, carb, and protein requirements for long term health (macronutrients), next is your micronutrients (vitamins and minerals, usually found in meat and leafy green vegetables) and next is any supplements to your diet (creatine, fish oil, etc)

and to add to that, muscle consume more calories than fat so by building muscle you boost your calorie consumption, so build some muscle and you won't have a diet as restrictive as if you didn't exercise at all.

I have close relatives that do this and am now convinced that this is one of the biggest reasons people see next to no weight loss from dieting.

3000 calories comes to 120 regular or 750 baby carrots.

almost 100% calories in vs calories out.

"almost"? It's exactly calories in vs out.

The "almost" is the 5-10% disparity in BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate), which differs from person to person. If you took 100 people that all weight 100lbs and gave them the exact same diet and exercise regiment (like they stepped in sync, ate in sync, slept in sync) for a month, they would not all weight an identical weight at the end of the experiment due to differences in BMR. What the OP stated is correct, that it's almost all calories in vs calories out, but the slight difference comes up that there's a slight difference between how quickly each individual can use a single calorie.

Metabolic rate is part of calories out.

yea - he's saying some people are more efficient at burning calories, and some people are less efficient. vice versa for maintaining calories in. it's just a quirk of having a large sample size.

not only do people differ, but the same person's rate can differ quite substantially from this time to that

This is not taking into account BMR changes. For example, if I lift weights, my BMR after lifting will be higher than somebody who didn't lift. So the calories I burned during lifting are one thing but the new burn rate, as a result of lifting weights, is another. I think a lot of things change our BMR rates throughout the day so I think our current methods of calculating EE are missing variables.

Well, if you got implants or an amputation you'd gain/lose weight...

But seriously, it's exactly calories in vs out otherwise.

You can lose weight eating nothing but butter and ice cream, just eat less than like 2k calories of it per day.

Well, yeah, but you would be incredibly unhealthy and have very little energy to do anything.

Weight differential is calories in calories out.

Proper nutrition is a little bit more than that.

But they weren't talking about proper nutrition, they were talking about weight loss.

Unhealthy? Fuck yeah.

No energy? Nope.

You'd be getting tons of fat and carbs. You'd be fine for energy. You'd only be lacking in protein for muscle synthesis.

Weight differential is calories in calories out.

Proper nutrition is a little bit more than that.

Good thing I wasn't talking about micronutrient nutrition then, huh?

Good thing I wasn't talking about micronutrient nutrition then, huh?

Good thing? I guess. What's the point then? Nobody should do what you said. It's pointless information. Like "You can lose weight by not eating food."

Yes, thanks. True but pointless.

Good thing I wasn't talking about micronutrient nutrition then, huh?

Good thing? I guess. What's the point then?

I'd say there were two main points...

Weight gain/loss is almost 100% calories in vs calories out.

And...

Exercise's only role in weight loss is to increase the caloric expenditure for the day in addition to portion control.

And if you've already forgotten, this was the comment I responded to...

She obviously does it all the time. Just illustrates that diet has as much to do with weight as exercise.

Do you need me to clarify how my response directly flows from the parent comment?

Nobody should do what you said.

I don't remember directing or even implying that anyone should do either example.

I'm honestly quite confused as to how you've come to this notion.

It's pointless information. Like "You can lose weight by not eating food."

Yes, thanks. True but pointless.

I think you're being a bit obtuse if you can't understand how those examples were perfectly illustrative of the principal I was explaining.

A principle which the vast majority of people out there sincerely do not understand; as simple as it is.

Dude, just accept your comment was pointless and stupid.

Yes, 10-11 = -1. Thanks. We all get it.

It's not fucking informative or helpful at all.

Everyone knows calories in calories out. You're not clever anymore.

A principle which the vast majority of people out there sincerely do not understand

No. They do. You just want them not to so you seem special.

You're not special.

The only people who don't accept this as truth anymore are those who don't want to and you know you're not talking to them.

dude what in the fuck are you even going on about? get off your computer and have a nap

Guck your fat shaming. I'd rather get invasive surgery because my body has been trained to not be full.

Well.. and while it certainly takes skill and technique, her movements aren't exactly a ton of exercise.

Given enough time they certainly are.

30 minutes of this kind of work, especially at her current weight, would be a decent workout.

While this is still exercise, it probably doesn't burn even close to the amount of calories that sprinting, long distance running or powerlifting does. Also while she seems very good at this with her current status of her body, how good do you think she'd be if she replaced all that excess adipose tissue with muscle, and trained her muscles for endurance.

Because she doesn't have any friends. Because of how unlikable she is. Unlikable. Liked by no one. A bitter, unlikable loner whose passing shall not be mourned.

The fuck....?

It says so right here in her personnel file. Very formal. Very official. It also says she was adopted. So that's funny, too.

No one wanted to address the elephant in the room. Or more specifically the one in the hula hoop.

God you guys are rough lol

Because it's not really necessary to comment on the appearance of people?

Even if they parade themselfs online? Every image that is taken and posted online is criticized.

I was thinking what did she look before she started doing this, but then again im a huge asshole.

You can find those comments, you just have to do is scroll aaaaallll the way down

Blah is very puzzled by people who aren't assholes

I had to scroll down way to far to see the first joke of this size. I'm disappointed it wasn't bigger.

I'm disappointed it wasn't bigger.

If you had a nickel...

I had big expectations...

[–]STALKS_YOUR_MOTHER -4ポイント-3ポイント  (0子コメント)

I'd be a lot less impressed if she was skinny. She has less room for error this way.

Edit: looks like tumblr girls passed through here.
