Found out a Coworker is a Terper; Not What You'd Expect (self.TheBluePill)

So, I've been wanting to write this for a couple of weeks. I'm a semi-regular here and am posting on a throwaway so I don't want to accidentally doxx myself.

I work in a pretty typical office in a mid-sized city in the south. It's a nice town and it's a nice place to work. The office is divided into a few sections but it's fairly small and we all make a point to go out for happy hour pretty regularly. Everyone gets along, with the exception of one guy who is creepy as hell.

Anyway, we were all out at a happy hour a couple of weeks ago and sure enough the creepy dude started to get drunk. The more he drank, the creepier he got. At some point he started making a friend of mine very uncomfortable with his advances. She finally told him flat out she wasn't interested and he got angry and started making a scene.

One of the managers from our business ops team stepped in and calmed the situation down. He cracked a couple jokes, bought the dude a drink and kind of pulled him aside. I think they talked for a bit and whatever was said must have upset the Creepster, because he left.

Before we go any further, I want to describe the guy who rescued my friend. He's a really good-looking guy, super successful (like 30 and makes six figures plus, will probably be a VP in the next couple of years), and is also in very good shape. The women in the office all talk about how hot he is and the guys in the office look up to him.

So, after the creepy guy left, the manager came back to the table and of course everyone was talking about what happened and how much of an asshole Creepster was. He laughed along with us, but then the weirdest shit happened.

He started saying that he actually empathized with the Creepster, and then went on to say stuff that was straight out of the Terper handbook, like society is feminized and despises men like the creepy dude which only ostracizes them more, blah, blah, blah. I immediately clammed up (couldn't believe what I was hearing), but what was amazing (and awful) is that a lot of the girls agreed!

It gets worse. One of the other guys at the table said, "yeah, this makes sense, it's like that website you sent me." It ultimately came out that this manager is a straight up, no joke, hardcore Terper and he's converting guys in the office.

Obviously, I'm completely dumbfounded. I met a Terper in real life, and it was not at all how I expected it to be. Not only that, but the guy is helping that shit go mainstream in my own office.

The main reason I'm writing this is to remind people that TRP may be a vile and hateful philosophy, but the stereotype that all Terpers are neckbeard losers isn't true. It's dangerous to assume that because it allows people like this manager to preach this shit and you won't see it coming. In retrospect, lots of things he's said I've realized were pretty misogynistic. I just didn't pick up on it because he's a naturally charismatic guy and I just couldn't imagine he would be into that stuff.

I'm not sure what to do about the situation. I actually still like this manager. He's a great guy, but I want to talk to him about this. But I also don't want to seem like le crazy SJW, especially at work.

It's not just creepy outcasts who are misogynists.

Some times it's politicans, business leaders, proffesors. That's what makes it worse.

It's kind of dismissive when we act like it's a few weirdos we never interact with when in reality it's not.

Yeah, that's true enough. A lot of them are either the 'superficially charming' psychopaths who rise high up in the business world before their own sociopathy brings them down (the guys from Enron come to mind), or actual reasonably well-adjusted guys who think TRP actually is about self-improvement and robust masculinity. The latter group usually leaves after a while.

It sounds like that guy may be the former, though. Do NOT talk to him, he won't listen, and he'll likely try to make things harder for you when he finds out you're a ~feminist~. I would strongly advise trying to get yourself reassigned to someone else, preferably one you know isn't a terper. You may end up saving yourself a lot of trouble in the long run--who knows when one of the "creepy" guys TRPmanager has a soft spot for will get jealous of his erstwhile benefactor for being richer/more handsome/etc. than he is and try to pull something suspicious in the workplace. A lot of really bitter manospherians will react like that, one reason they're so unbearable.

Or it's also possible this is just a TRP plant trying to score some lulz (you can never tell with throwaway accounts). In that case, hi! Shouldn't you be off ~alphaing~ somewhere else?

It's mostly a joke, rather than a stereotype. It's the inner neck-beard, the kind of person who uses alpha and beta, who thinks STEM-STEM-STEM and is euphoric. The kind of person who is so attached to the ideology that they care that people think it's full of neck-beards.

If he is attractive enough to get the ladies after him he's probably not an angry Red-piller. He might be an MRA.

If I didn't have certain influences in my life I'd probably be a red-piller.

TRP is half right about women being morons. The full truth is that all people are morons. The men and women of your office are eating out of this guy's hand because he is "cool."
