From what I've read, they've made considerable strides in their support, though. They've come out in support of some LGBT pride stuff, and they've stopped (or at least reduced) donations to anti-LGBT entities.

This might all just be their way of getting back into the public's good graces as the cultural mentalities in the U.S. shift, but who cares as long as they're making progress.

Black conservative, or someone who identifies as such raises some natural contrasts and questions when you consider some american conservative goals such as voter ID laws that are intended to suppress minority voting. Let alone the regular complaints or critiques among republicans that blacks or minority votes are won with promises of "free stuff".

Nope. The fact is that black conservatives are pushed by the Republican party as "token" minorities. White conservatives love seeing minorities act like "one of them". Little anecdote here, I used to be a pretty hardcore atheist conservative, I was asked to join Young Conservatives by some classmates who were turned off when I let them know my religious views.
