Listen dude. I don't give a fuck about "sins". I'm not even slightly religious. It just tickles me that fashion (which, as you have said has been influential throughout human history) is directly motivated by: Pride, Envy and Greed (probably more if you dig a little).

Fashion is a status symbol. It's a way for people to advertise to other people that they are better than them in a way that has zero actual value. And while others are improving living conditions for the poor, making better, more environmentally friendly technology and advancing humanities understanding of the universe we live in (plus millions of other things), fashion remains as some pointless exercise in giving people new and different dresses that they can rub in each others faces to feel smug.

If you actually care about the betterment of humanity fashion should be at the bottom of your list.
