He's also (obviously) talking about Tyrion. So yeah, it's a "Tyrion quote", it's just not said by Tyrion.

I don't think you understand how quotes work.

I was merely commenting on the ambiguity of the English language. It's a "Tyrion quote" because it's about Tyrion.

Also, technically speaking, Tyrion is not a person and therefore cannot be attributed to a quote. You could attribute the quote to GRRM, said by Varys, about Tyrion.

It's a quote about Tyrion. Not a 'Tyrion quote'. You can try to dance around it as much as you want but it won't make you right.

Did you even read what I said? I was commenting, as a joke, about the ambiguity of the english language.

ie. Is a quote about Mt. Everest not a "Mt Everest quote" because the mountain didn't say it? It's ambiguous and my comment above was a "joke" of some sorts pointing this out.

Nothing in your explaination makes it seem like it was a joke.

However, this whole thing did remind me of my favorite Obama quote. It goes like this -

Fuck Obama

It was actually said by my racist, conservative uncle but everyone will understand that right? It's still an Obama quote just because it was about him!
